what is the differnece between chuki zenki an kouki s14 sr20det wiring harnesses????

ok so i bought an manual s14 sr motorset from this whack importer in canada "jdmplanet on ebay"... long story short they sent me wrong engine harness an there is no way they are going to send me the right one.

i dont mind spending the money on buying a brand new harness, i just need to know what harness i need to order, the options are chuki s14? zenki s14? or kouki s14?

what do i look for on my engine to determine the right harness?

also they gave me "WC in red lettering" ecu witch means zenki from what i have researched, but i cant just go off of that considering they sent me a harness that is not compatible to my sr20. so who knows if the ecu they gave is for my engine.

on the engine i have the tps sensor only has one female plug on it but the harness that came with my swap has a brown male plug the connects to the tps but there is a grey plug right next to the brown plug the dosnt plug in anywhere... i know that that grey plug is important because on my friends s15 sr it has both the grey an blown plugs on his tps and when you unplug the grey plug, the vvt makes a insain tapping noise.

these are the plugs im talking about, "my engine is all apart an being rebuilt due to shity compression results/ later to find 2 broked ring lands, this is why i say jdmplanet is a whack importer"

sorry for the poorly composed thread an grammar errors lol and thanks in advace to anyone who helps me figure out what harness i need to buy!!!!

you might be right, so they probably sent me an automatic harness, but what harness do i need to buy?

on thenismoshop.com the 3 choices are chuki s14sr, zenki s14sr, or kouki s14sr

The Nismo Shop : West Covina Nissan : Nissan OEM Engine Harnesses :: S13/S14 SR20DET

i didnt think they even made chuki s14 lol but thenismoshop.com aka westcovina nissan has that as an option

I believe you can just swap over a A/T TPS and it should be fine

as long as you have the appropriate wire harness and ECU

I am curious to know this as well. How do you tell the difference between the engines and harness? I know on the kouki (and I believe chuki) harness the maf plug is oval instead of rectangle. You can use that as a reference.

that that would probably work, but i think it would be more of a pain hunting down a automatic tps an ecu plus this harness i have is already pretty hacked up...i would rather just buy the proper harness for my engine brand new and send it to yurry @ wiring specialties to service it to go into my s13 so that i know 100% the wirring is right

there should be a serial number Tag on the ECU harness close to the ECU, if it does then you can find out what model it is

I guess seeing how it doesn't have the maf, you can't check the plug. All I know is kouki harness wont work with zenki. Don't know the specifics, but they changed some things up.

Do you have any pictures of the head/valve cover? Might help in identifying what engine you have so you can get the appropriate harness.

I could have sworn the Kouki ECU plug and the Zenkis are different. You cant connect a zenki harness into a kouki ECU and vice versa. Kouki Harness and S15 harness are similar with the slight exception that S15 harnesses doesnt use igniter chip.

Thats what was explained to me before by the guy who tuned my PFC when I was looking for a PFC to put into my S15 engine set.

Thats what was explained to me before by the guy who tuned my PFC when I was looking for a PFC to put into my S15 engine set.
What do you mean?

The WC ECU is the Zenki desho? and he has the blue plug ECU and Square MAF plug so that means its a Zenki harness with the zenki engine according to the Valve cover fasteners

There are actually quite a few S14 variations that i've seen but the most common ones are these:

Zenki S14: Blue Ecu Plug, square maf plug, all other plugs the same
(There are some variations on the harness such as having multiple Black/Red wires on the M63 plug, but they all still use the zenki WC ecu)

Early Kouki S14: Blue ecu plug, oval maf plug, all other plugs the same
(Same as above, but I don't remember ecu code of the top of my head)

Late Kouki S14: White ecu plug oval maf plug, all other plugs the same
(Super rare harness. It is a cross between an s14 and s15. This harness comes on the latest model s14 engine but has similar ecu pinout as s15 harness)

And if it isn't obvious already, all sensor plugs on all s14 motors are the same EXCEPT for the maf plug which is either square or oval. So the only components that need to match up are the maf, engine harness, and ecu.

Also for the TPS issue, If the harness has a second connector, it is for the throttle position switch as opposed to the throttle position sensor which is necessary on all motors. You do NOT need to have the throttle position switch plugged in, so don't worry if your missing the dual plug tps.

i'm 99% sure that 2nd plug NEEDS to be plugged in, i unplugged that grey plug on a friends s15 then stated the engine, it idled normal but when i gave it any throttle it would make a terrible tapping sound coming from the vvt.... then plugged it back in an it sound would stop

possibly s15's require that plug to always be plugged in an s14's dont? or maybe youre saying if you have the single plug tps it wont matter if the 2nd plug is plugged in?

either way i still think im just going to buy a new harness because the one i have is has a few broken plugs an has been hacked up, looks like someone useto have some kind of piggy back wirred in before an did a poor job of repairing it

here you can get the TPS if you get another Auto Wire harness
The Nismo Shop : West Covina Nissan : Nissan OEM Throttle Position Sensors - S13/S14/S15

But im sure if you ask yury he has a couple of plug laying around, plus im pretty sure he can repair that harness.
(Just trying to save you a few hundred bucks)

No. If you were to actually read, it would say its a zenki motor.

Hi.
I bought the late zenki JDM ecu.
It is black WC.
I find that JDM late zenki harness has everything like early zenki harness but MAF plug is oval.
It's wierd but i cant figure out whts wrong with this ecu.
I run it on a s14 squareplug maf.
On a days i will fit s14kouki maf.
I'm wondering is it diffrent in sending signals.
The engine starts on this JDM ecu but i cant switch off the engine.
I take the key and it's still working.
It gets boost cut on 0.4bar.
On stock ecu everything goes to normal.

any idea?
