word, conclusion of thread is as follows! is it worth paying 400 or in that price range to get rid of wavy overs? YES ONLY IF your molding them on. ANSWER is NO if your just gonna rivet them on.

no man you got it wrong, he said 400 to get the waves out of the overs, which is only worth it if your gonna mold them on. if your riveting them on just rivet since rivets leave creases.

I have DMax fiberglass ones on my car on my car. There is small waves if any and I just had them sanded and sprayed.
I riveted them on and didn't block them down and I don't think any small waves it may have take anything away from the paint job. I'll let you judge but if its a show car...do it. If not, I would just prep them yourself if you are concerened. I hope this helps. Andrew

you still don't understand.. yes if your going to mold them in yes you can do what you said, if your gonna rivet them in then there is no point.

so update;
after explaining at least 4 times that the over fenders get riveted on - they... riveted the rear valance, and the sideskirts to the front and rear... and they did it before painting.. now they want to just paint and clear over everything... ...should I let them do it or should I be stiff on the fact I didn't want the skirts and valances riveted on? I'm pretty upset that they did it but I don't think I care anymore... is it gonna look retarded if I just let them paint the car as is? I'm probably gonna let them paint the car white too to hide some of the shotty fiberglass... I just want to drive the car... don't have time to harp on this nonsense

Dont be a pushover. Riveted skirts and valences looks like shit, and if you are unhappy with it now, its going to just irritate you more over time after its painted. Get them to fix their fuckups before they paint the car.. If it was me, they would be replacing my valences and skirts, and I would be taking my car to another shop.
Ultimetly its up to you, its your car and you have to live with it... But you also put a good chunk of change into your car, and you should not take shortcuts or settle, just so you can drive your car again... Get it fixed, and do it the right way. |

my biggest fear is i crack a skirt and then the clear coat has to be destroyed because they are painted over, unless they paint it i nsections, w/e i have to go and talk to them before they do anything, but yeah it's pretty lame they did that.

At the very leastI would get them to drill the sideskirt rivets and fill back over the holes (if they dont replace them, which I doubt they will)... I would be pissed, so from the looks of it you're handling the situation pretty well haha.

yeah that looks shitty, needs to be fixed before paint, and the rockers need to be painted underneath. I would also have them trim the overs to fit with the valances and skirts.
