Never dyno'd but I'd say around 330-340whp. If I keep the car I will dyno it for sure.

First Dyno. Seem right?

1997 Stock internals.
10psi.
JGS kit - AGP/Turbonetics .50 trim T3/T04E
Log manifold
JGS400 Wastegate
KA24(D)E downpipe and wg pipe set
550cc injectors
Z32 MAF
Enthalpy Tune - 93 octane
3" fmic
3" exhaust.

218 hp - Does that sound right? They said this Australian Dyno is similar to a Mustang Dyno.

im building a 93 ka24de from the bottom up. i'm shooting for an hp range of 350 - 400. i've got eagle rods, wilco pistons with a .20 over bore, bc stage 2 cams, bc valves, bc valve springs & retainers, excessice fuel rail, excessive cast intake, excessive SR oil pan. what size turbo should i be looking for along with injectors and fuel pump?

You sound like you have spent a good bit of money on the parts you already have... so if you are going to continue the trend. I think a perfect setup would be a Dual BB Precision 5858 turbo(id run Vband if you can too since you didnt mention your turbo manifold), Precision 880cc or larger injectors , Aeromotive Stealth Fuel Pump. You have a promising sounding build sir!

And id also like to just like to say you should consider getting rid of the bc cams for kelford stage 3 instead.... you wont be disappointed.

Does it matter if you are to keep the butterflies, EGR, emissions, etc. ?

That seems low to me, even for that boost level on a turbo that size.

Pre tune new KA24DET question.

Still kind of new here hope right thread.
Just finished putting a new KA24DET in a 89 240sx.
I have the boost set at zero and the waste gate open and still the stock injectors ( 600cc are ready when motor is broken in and boost is set and heading to tune shop ). My question... The motor has a very rough idle and when I approach a stop the motor stalls. Less than 1 hr and 15 Km on the motor and not over 3000 rpm yet. Does the ECU need to be set up differently? The timing is set to stock specs and not sure what else to do.
Thanks for any help.

Valve cover compatibility?

Want to do some work on a ka24de valve cover (polish, paint, w.e.). Do any other vehices with KA's have the same valve cover as a 97 240sx? Of course I cant an s14 at pick and pull but thought I could potentially find a cover for the same engine! I know s13 ones are different, but I was thinking SUV's and shit....

how much power can a stock Exedy Clutch hold?
I think I'm making about ~210WHP/TQ and about ~240HP/TQ at the crank
Max HP and TQ numbers were about the same

I'm planning to replace the clutch with a Bran new OEM Exedy but not sure if I should be upgrading

You need to upgrade to at least a Stage 2. The stock clutch will slip under any boost. I have a spec stage 2 in my car and I love it. Pedal feel is great.

As far as main bearings go, should I just take the numbers off the block and the crank and order OEM with the varying grades? Or would I be better off getting ACL or Clevites and just plastigaging them to assure oil clearance is within spec?

Kelford cams are the best I've run. I ran Kelford 272s in my 600HP EVO. Lumpy idle can be tuned out some for ease of DD. I personally loved the lope and it did not affect my DD ability.

couple questions for you awesome people. z31 turbo? hard to make work? i know its a t3 but ive read some are water-cooled etc and the elbow on it 6bolt(i think)? anyone make downpipe specifically for this? will a external waste gate be needed or what? (had the turbo for a day cause he was moving and never got to check) basically, what would what would be needed to make this work as i can get a pretty much mint one for free? this is my first plan that im leaning towards as the turbo is free. also. if im shooting for 275whp is a stock motor okay? up to how much hp? also. my next plan would be a t25 with normal: 370 injectors, fmic, z32 maf, enthalpy tuned ecu (for both setups actually) yada yada yall know the drill. but heres my next question. if i, for example, use an isis sr20 elbow will the isis sr20 downpipe fit the chassis well even if it is a ka? of course id upgrade the clutch and put in a high flow cat if not a test pipe. glad i found this sticky since tax return season is around the corner. thanks in advance fellas.

Anyone try adding a gallon of e85 to a tank of 91? If so, any results (ie. Performance or fuel economy difference)? Just a thought. Thanks!

My buddy did 25% E85 & the rest pump gas (91 octane).
He said it pretty much became 94-96 octane.
TUNING is a must though if you decide to blend the two.

hey guys,
So I've been searching for more information, but have had no luck. Can anyone verify/deny the necessity for re-gapping spark plugs for winter vs. summer in SoCal?
Thanks.

Hey everyone new to the forum. A year ago I walked into a awesome trade for a built 95 240 with the ka-t set up. Has been great to me up until a couple weeks ago. I had gotten into the throttle hard in third gear when the car started to stutter. It would do it with anything over half throttle, by the time I made it home it was missing at idle and sound very similar to a sti ( much to my dislike). Any ideas of possible causes or remedies?

We have you covered for your S13 with a KA, either just an engine harness or a "combo" which is the engine and transmission harness together.

Hey guys, I just found a screaming deal on a TD04L-13T off of a WRX with an intercooler. Any clue how bad it'll suck to match up flanges? And can I still run a z32 MAF?
