Has there been an uptick in sexual assault since LGBTQIA+ has been pushed more mainstream? There's been a decrease in reports to police so I think that's a hard question to answer without hours of research. Hours that are better spent doing literally anything else because you don't give a shit about honesty or integrity when it comes to arguments against your established "truths."

Lax environmental laws are on the short list for causes of the uptick in violence in the '80s and early '90s.

Screw welfare- when you have a support system. A lot of people don't... like the LGBTQIA+ people who were disowned by religious paren'ts.

The argument to legalize Marijuana was it would have a direct positive impact on those factors.

The narrative was "poor pot heads are unfairly targeted, incarcerated and are forced to turn to petty crime to support their needs stuck in a vicious circle".

The prisons are full of people who got arrested over just having or selling a joint. Property crime is driven by teens trying to get money to buy pot, car accidents are because people drink booze because they legally can't get pot. Unemployment is because pot users can't pass drug screens.

How could it possibly make things worse? I can google things and find evidence to argue both sides, but I know personally and amongst my friends/family, it has made a very positive impact. From decreased alcohol consumption, to pain relief, to expunged criminal records, I have yet to see any evidence of negative impact.

In NC, we have a thing called Mandatory Reporting. There are a ton of positions wherein as SOON as evidence of illegal harm to a child is discovered, the individual HAS to report. If they don't, they lose their job and are subject to legal proceedings themselves. My wife is a teacher, so she is one of those Mandatory Reporters. Clergy is on that list.

The point is that the ONLY person claiming that drag queens and trans people are molesting children are doing so with no evidence. Meanwhile, those SAME people are making excuses for the clergy and others villainizing those same drag performers and transgender people.
