your saying 255 will be almost no stretch on a 11" wheel when a 255 rt615 runs bigger then most tires out there and i've got it on a 10.5" wheels and you can deff notice the stretch... not much, but it's noticed for sure...
so it will deff be more stretched on a 11" obviously.. i don't have any "stretch pics" but the rim is right with the fender if i lower it more PRE- lowering... not the best pics to see the stretch but u can see that it's there.. |

i was answering accordingly had a 255 on my 10.5 ssr's and the sidewalls looked straightup and down, , like i said it all depends on the tires.. 235 35 on my current 10.5 and the stretch is still mild right now!

also wanna show how, i have 2 different front tires on the fronts they are both 225 40 18 on a 9" ssr they are both falkens and one looks like a really nice mild stretch and the other looks like a minor to no stretch! why, because of the model of the tire! i need to use my friends i phone to show.. post it up a bit later.

i knoooooooow that it's because of the model of tire.... that's exactly what i'm saying/said... Falken RT-615's run WIDER then most other tires. and i have a 255/40/17 rt-615 on a 17x10.5 and u can notice the stretch that it has... that's why i'm saying that a 255 other brand tire would be mild+ rather then almost no stretch. |

Not necessarily true, due in part to the structure of the 615's, much stiffer/ flatter sidewall.
a Feddy wouldn't look nearly that stretched in the application.

see, when i click the "MOST EXTREME TIRE STRETCH THREAD" i expect to see pictures that are close to the MOST EXTREME TIRE STRETCH.
soooooo why is pg. 23 "most conservative stretch ever... i wonder if we can legally call it a stretch..?" page? post #667 needs to be relocated to the pic thread or something |

I'd say that, if the tire manufacturer put the recommended rim width down for the tire, and you put that tire on a rim within the recommended width, then it's not a stretch.
Take for example, a 235/40/17 tire on a 9.5" rim. For the Federal 595, that falls under the recommended rim width for that size tire, and it shows because it is barely stretched, just like that 275/35 T1R up there on the 10.5" rim. |

255 on a 10 is a stretch 255mm to inches = 10.03 at this your point your like 255 is perfect for a 10... but you are wrong a 10'' wheel from lip to lip is nearly 11 inches 11inches = 279.4mm 275-285 is the sizing for a 10'' wheel 275 RT-615 = 10.8 on 17x10 RPF1

11.5'' = 292.1mm, that size is not available so you have to choose tires that are close. 275mm = 10.8 inches 285mm = 11.22 inches 295mm = 11.6 inches 285-295 should be the best choice

Lol. I have the same question to him. There's always people coming into threads, trying to push their own shit.

Unless you're talking about a 15" rim, since nobody makes anything less than a 205 in 17" sizes, and nothing less than a 215 for 18" sizes. |

most of the "stretch" in here lately is bunk. the sidewalls are almost flush with the wheel..

225/45R18 Direzza DZ101 on an 18x9.5
Apparently a 245/40R18 barely stretches on a 9.5 (Dunlop Direzza Z1) I don't own a 240... just a friend of a member... but I've trolled these forums for at least 4 years just for wheel and tire info. |

Btw I love this thread. If anyone needs some stretching done, we are more than game to try some craziness. I really should take more pics of some of our work, but in the chaos of business its hard to take some time off so that I can run outside to take pics. But ever so often I do get this oppurtunity, Here is a pic of:
215/35R19 Federal 595 on a 19x9.5 NOTE:Small Sidewalls are a lot of fun to stretch and fill with air, but this one took extra lube to seat correctly without leaking air later. If anyone in So Cali needs a little helping with stretching we are more than willing! Give us a call @ 323-564-5797. We'll be waiting with our 3 Cheetahs standing by. |
