helper springs is probably the main reason they're comfortable when compared to other coilovers

is yours a kouki conversion?
if so compare the headlight wiring between zenki and kouki s14s
koukis have an extra relay that apparently helps with this issue
relay can be found in late 90s infinity models or dealer

I have a few questions that I could use some answers from some of you Kouki guys who may have experience with this.

I have a '95 Zenki and I am converting it to Kouki with Japanese headlights.

1.) Is there any difference with the wiring or bulbs for Kouki headlights as far as USDM vs JDM is concerned?

2.) I've read that people just use HID's instead of rewiring the Zenki harness for the Kouki bulbs... so this being the easiest route I was planning on choosing to do this. Will a plug and play HID kit for the Zenki fit into the Kouki headlights? Does it even make a difference? I'm not too educated on this topic.

3.) The only thing needed to be rewired is the low beams correct?

4.) Just for future reference... I've read that retrofitting different projectors such as s2000 or TSX is ideal... however from what I noticed the projectors are much smaller than the USDM Kouki projector which are even smaller than the JDM Projector... IS there any better projector that will be the same size? If not I really don't care anyways I would just like to make the headlights work the easiest.

Thanks!

s0ap if you plan on doing wiring changes to the headlights you might as well step up the wiring to a thicker awg wire and make a new harness. stock light harness is pretty weak

1.) If I recall, I don't think theres any difference in the usdm vs jdm wiring unless the jdm headlight has the auto adjust cutoff leveling. As for the bulbs I believe the low beam are still H1 on both but the high beam on the jdm headlight is h1 also and usdm is a h3 high beam

2.)It's easier to go through the hid route but you'll have to get an adapter from h4 to h1.

3.)Yes if you get usdm headlights only the lowbeams need to be rewired.

4.) I don't know.

First off... you rule, thanks!

1.) Don't think there is any auto adjust. High beam is probably an H1... pictures below provided, confirm?

2.) So... I buy HID kit for S14 Zenki but also buy a H4 to H1 adapter?

3.) I already have JDM headlights... so I will have to rewire the high beams regardless if I buy HIDs?

4.) No worries!

Some pictures...

The wiring for the bulbs run on the same line and the bulbs look identical just different colors... I don't know what they're supposed to look like though haha. It only has that one plug connector.

Bonus: Does the JDM projector look bigger than the USDM projector or am I imagining it?

s0ap. the projector's on the JDM lights are bigger (not sure what size). Since you have the wiring for the lights, my friend T-Tapped (Cleanest way) the high/low-beam to my harness. I would have posted my wiring, but I don't have a picture, nor do I have my headlights anymore.

1.) Yeah, you don't have auto adjust or else there'd be a little black box on the headlight somewhere.

2.) You buy hid kit for h1 s14 kouki headlights and get the adapter/splice it. The previous owner of my car has it spliced. I'll take a picture for you when I'm home tomorrow. Beware the wiring is kinda shitty.

That 4 prong plug you have is rendered useless unless you also have the wiring harness for that. The previous owner of my car has the wires spliced from them but you can depin them and wire it up to the hid kit. I don't know if I'm making sense but I'll try to get pictures up tomorrow sir.

I also think the jdm headlights have bigger projectors unless someone can prove us wrong haha

Also, I think I have h4 to h1 adapters somewhere, if I can find it I'll send it out to you or something

Car is a '95 Zenki and is being converted...

so couldn't I buy HID kit for Zenki so its plug and play with the stock harness for low beams and then fit those into the JDM kouki lights. Then get a h4 to h1 adapter for the high beams? (still using the zenki wiring for all of this)

Perhaps I'm just terribly confused. This wouldn't work if the Zenki HID doesn't fit into the H1 light socket thingy... is that why you said HID kit for kouki? Also assuming the h4/h1 adapter would fit for the high beams.

Id just buy a H1 hid kit and cut off the stock plug, put 2 male spade connectors on wiring harness side and 2 female connectors on hid side and push them together and your done.

kyu (I think that's your name) JDM projector's are bigger:

http://zilvia.net/f/chat/42369-kouki...eadlights.html

s0ap, you can use the zenki plugs, but would need to purchase H1 HIDs. If you want HID's/High-beam, you'll need the bi-xenon HID's (which I have) and then T-Tap the high-beam (2-pin) to your High-beam (normal bulb).

http://www.diodedynamics.com/images/HIDrelay.jpg (the yellow plug with red/black).

Just picked it up a couple weeks ago. It's not in the best condition. Has a few cosmetic and mechanical issues that I need to take care of before I get it to be in the condition I want.

Otherwise...

you coming over to the darkside Soap?

JDM projectors ARE bigger
the high and low beams are separated
they don't have the manual adjusters to aim the beams the usdm ones do
