I'm looking into getting some of the Kumho Ecsta 712's for my 96 240sx. The guy at my tire shop said I could use a 205-55-16 or a 225-50-16 which would be wider and he thought would probably look better too. What are your experiences with 225-50-16 series tires? Are they worth the little extra cost?

You'll have a wider tire yes, but the 25 will exceed the width of the rim, thus making the sidewall flex more. It will make the car a tad on the sloppy side for handling.
205/55/16 for stock 16X6.5"
225 for a 7.5"

Is 205 too narrow for a 7.5" rim.  If so, what's a good size for AutoX (lots of sidewall stress) applications?
