I breezed thru this thread I read a lot. And learned a lot
I have the 300xx brakes up front and stock out back My question is that is their. Any rim fitment issues? Wanna make sure if I do this (hire someone expert I'm not) To clear the rims I have I would suck to do the swap and I can't Put my rims back on |

depends on the wheel/face design. stock evo/sti have 17s but designed to clear the calipers. my 18x10-1 needed a 20mm spacer to clear the brembos. my 17x10+12 clear no problem

R33 Gts-t Calipers powder coated gold with painted letters. Stainless steel lines, e-brake with r33 cables , and 17/16 BMC. Was gonna do the brembo's but i got a super deal that i just couldn't pass up on these. These things have more than enough stopping power anyway. Plus, lets be real, I only wanted brembos for the bling factor. I have no shame in saying that lol. Next upgrade will be to use 350z track rotors up front because sourcing rotors for these things is a pain in the ass.

This is where I am at
EVO 8/9 or x brembos I cant all four corners for under 1k local From what I read EVO has 5x100 and 5x114 rotors I like the dba 4000 Will this work? And besides Touge factory (not sure if they have it cause site was down yesterday) Who else sells a kit for this? Kit can be rotors bracket and to just brackets The less shopping around the better. Saving money now to do this swap after my body kit purchase |

evo 8/9 has 5x114.3 and the same hub diameter as our s-chassis.
the front evo calipers can be found cheap, especially if you get them in not so good condition to rebuild and paint/powdercoat them. It's the rear STi brembos that will run you some dough.. |

Besides getting my r33s for a steal, this was a big part of what turned me off of the brembos. Those small ass rear calipers were considerably more expensive than the fronts and they're smaller than Z32/R33 rears. At the end of the day, I just couldn't justify it...even though every bit of my ricer being still wants them. |

I have what you could call a fetish for oversized brakes so I couldn't resist lol
As for the brembo gold, it was a bitch trying to find the right color to match the STi rears but I don't think they turned out too bad from 10 ft away. I ended up using VHT gold engine enable with clear please excuse the played out wheels -__- |

So your saying the sti. Rears are bigger in the back
So the correct set up should be EVO 8/9 or x in the front and sti in the back ?????? I like the gold the set of 4, egos I'm eyeing are read but that won't be for long |

another reason to go with evo calipers is that they the leading and trailing pistons would be used correctly on the s-chassis knuckles. This is for better brake modulation and prevents a more "twitchy" braking feel if I remember correctly. I know of guys running STi calipers w/out any issues, but this is something to think about.

yeah usually you can find the whole e-brake assembly minus calipers pretty easily. The parts are used so you just have to scan the classifieds and even ebay sometimes. Buy the whole e-brake assembly, get new z32 rear rotors or if they're included and they're in good shape, resurface them, then buy your sti rear calipers. Done and done.
