Back again, and finding a lack of 240sx to buy

I used to have a 1993 240sx way back in 1999 and cruise this forum with dreams of a swap. I got rid of it in 2001 or so it was my first car so of course i spun out in the rain and wrecked it after having it for one month. So i never thought to do anything to it. Well now i am about to graduate college after getting out of the military for 6 years and i have some job offers that are paying well so i want to get another 240sx and hopefully put an rb25det in it. I am, though, a little disappointed at the lack of available cars for sale in my area. Seems only a couple are on autotrader within 100 miles and most are automatics or they want a hell of a lot for a 1995 model with 200k miles. Did everyone just buy these cars up in the last ten years or what?

i would suggest looking a little further than 100 miles. it'll be worth it to travel a little further for a better condition car. Or try looking on craigslist. Or even just do a manual conversion. Either of those would be better than just settling for something your not gonna be happy with. gl

autotrader cost money to sell. craigslist is free. which one do you think most 240 owners would use? bwahahaha good luck!

Automatic is probably gonna be in better condition anyways, or at least have a chance to be...most of the 5 speeds I see around here for sale are beat all to hell...

All the wannabes and fanbois have destroyed the clean cars,

Try going and craigslist and finding a clean, low mileage, virgin s13. Nearly impossible

NEARLY impossible... i've seen it tho. i think maybe once or twice lmao, so i'd settle for one with a clean body. the other stuff can be replaced, or just buy a shell and put it together yourself.. thats what i did

If your serious about purchasing a good 240sx than distance is no option!! I traveled all the way to Richmond Virginia to get my 240SX and i was living in 29 palms CA at the time. I bought from a dealer and drove it back to Cali!

i had to look for a year to get my last 240 a few years ago and drove 1200 miles to find a clean one and overpaid 1000 because it was the only clean one i had found with no rust etc and was what i wanted.
i know from experience that a clean well priced 240, 500 or more miles away will be sold before you can see it. theres alot of rusted out shit boxes out there
