Attended an S10/Blazer Xtreme Meet Today

we were to meet at the hooters on lindbergh at 6. i showed up at 6:15 because i didn't know where it was. i didn't know any of the people in the club except one person, so nobody really knew me besides what i posted in the new members section. i get out and instantly get the cold shoulder as everyone turns their backs (ouch) &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':crazy:'> &nbsp; i walk up and say, hey guys, what's going on. i recieved a faint "...hey" from somebody. right then i wanted to get back in my vehicle and just take off. nobody asked, "so what's your name" "my name is (insert name here" "do anything to your blazer?" nothing. i'm a ghost. this isn't my kind of deal i'm thinking.

so everyone's talking about S10's (i'm the only blazer there) and i'm about as confused as a 240SX newbie when somebody mentions KA, SR, CA, STB, MAF, etc. so i try to chime in on what i can, and try to laugh at the jokes i understand.

still no sign of the one person i barely know. it gets quiet so i start to talk to someone who has a syclone that runs 13.6 in the quarter. he seems cool, but doesn't want to talk, maybe he was just shy. i talk to another person who seemed cool, but everyone else wouldn't give you the time of day.

some more S10's pull up. I heard the following comments:
"who's THIS guy???"
"that's a piece of shit"
"isnt' he new?"
"why do they even come here?"
"don't they have anything done to their rides?"

WOW. this is a nightmare hand delivered by satan himself. so i looked at an S10 that had 3 tvs, and an 18 subwoofer, and air bags. not my style. i realized i don't belong with this crowd anyway. everyone went inside hooters to eat. one of the nicer guys i talked to said, "i got to go". i said. "yeeeah me too, uh, i'll see you guys cruising around i guess" ya fuckin right. i took off.

thirsty as hell, i pulled into a gas station to get a cuppucino or however it's spelled. the lady at the counter keeps talking about gas. i'm like no i didn't get gas. she looked like she was on crack and had no teeth. she said no, can you help the person on pump 8 for me, i can't leave the station. i'm thinking what the hell, are you going to pay for my drink or something. so i say screw it, i'll help the person.

i walk out to the pump to help a person who cannot operate a gas pump. the person turns around and it looks like our very own irena (s13grl) <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':huh:'> i say...uhh. hi. the lady in there told me to help you. are you having trouble with the pump? she said she needed help and the pump is not working. she even sounded like irena. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':huh:'> &nbsp;i tried the pump as well, and it would not pump gas at all. i said, you're going to have to try another pump, try the one behind you. she said, but i have no gas! i said you ran out of gas totally? she said ya. i said so you can't back it up to the pump even? she said, i already tried that pump. i said try the pump on the other side, so she gets in her Grand am and tries the other side. but i thought she was all out of gas??? maybe she didn't understand me. she was definitely from another country.

she kept pressing the pay outside button while i kept trying to work the pump. i said, ok so you're trying to use a credit card? she said no i want to pay inside! it was pretty funny. i tried not to laugh. brightened up my day at least.

anyway. the point of this post is that 240SX meets, big or small, people are more friendly. sure, there are always going to be the crowds of people that know each other more than others, but everyone gets along and is not judgemental on a stock 240SX.

I can't believe they were that cold to ya? I guess not every car group is has friendly has 240sx.

haha. too xtreme for me. a 4100 lbs automatic midsize SUV may not be extreme, but we'll let them think that. our nissans have enough extremity.

i wasn't expecting the cold shoulder since the people seemed somewhat nice online. but it was worth a shot to meet up and possibly meet more nice people. but it didn't work out. ah well.

Yea..... well theres this nice red Xtreme S10 around where i live rollin on 22's...... i mean its Just a S10 and all but it looks decent.... espically with the air bag suspension...... bagh its still a GM....
