Hey i was looking into buying an ACT clutch sometime soon cause mine is starting to slip a little. Neway, I can't decide on which stage clutch to buy cause i know that the stage 1 with the street disc would be perfect for right now but it's hp rating is at 267hp and i hope to be running a little more than that one day .... close to 300 .... so i thought about getting the 4 puck cause i don't wanna have to buy another one if i ever get to 300,  but i don't want to have a clutch that's just insanely heavy and ridiculously uncomfortable on everyday driving. So does ne peeps in here have ne of these clutches?? R they as harsh on connection as they make them out to be?? What's ur input?? THANKS IN ADVANCE

thats 267 ft-lbs of torque...i don't know too much about the ka, but normally the torque is lower than the hp...then again, the ka is torquey.
if ur doing the sr by any chance, then ur looking at the wrong clutch - the sr is rated for 362 ft-lbs.  if u can, i'd use the silvia street clutch.  i don't know if they're interchangable though.

Well, the 6-puck will break your tranny if you're not careful, so stay away from that one. The 4 puck is going to be pain for everyday driving. I say that if you're going to hit 300 within a year, then maybe go with the 4-puck, but I'd stick to the street disc personally. Think about it realistically. 300 is a great goal, but are you really going to get there? I'm not saying you aren't, but it is a lot of work. Not only that, but when you get up to about 250, you might find that your really happy with that. Remember, you drive a really light car. 2640 pounds if i'm not mistaken. But yeah, if you think you're going to definately hit 300 within a year or so, then think about the 4-puck, otherwise stick with the street disc.

the 4 puck is gonna be harsher on the tranny then the 6 puck....but if you go more then 300 then you are gonna need a puck....6 or 4..both are about the same feel...if you do get a puck..make sure you get the puck with a sprung center not the regid...mine was regid and I broke 2 trannies with it....

I know there are a few boosted KAs with tq #'s up around 300. &nbsp;A FEW. &nbsp;I know that is a small group that has worked really hard to get that much output. &nbsp;I have a feeling that if/when you get there, a replacement clutch would be easy and likely necessary. &nbsp;In the meanwhile, I'd enjoy the street disk instead of getting something that would be very impractical for daily driving. &nbsp;I've driven cars w/ heavy clutches and couldn't imagine doing it on a daily basis anymore!

What makes you think that the 4puck is going to be worse on a transmission than a 6? Also, I've never seen a 4 or 6 puck that was sprung. I don't believe they make them.

6 puck unsprung = chattering bastard. &nbsp;Very hard and very uncomfortable for every day driving. &nbsp;I'd wait till you are nearing your goal and then just buy a new clutch unless you are going to hit that goal (like others said) within the next year.

Okay here are the facts from ACT:

Strip/Street clutch - holds up to 362 ft lb of torque
Puck series clutch - holds up to 463 ft lb of torque

Thanks guys i guess im goin to go ahead and go with the street/strip clutch cause like ya say i think it will be a little while b4 i hit 300hp Im goin with some kinda boost and NOS. Neway, i do think the 4 puck would be a little harsh for everyday driving and not worth it.

I don't know about that man i checked that stats today and im almost positive that the street clutch is rated at 267 hp.

I apologize, I should say the clutch rating I posted is meant to be for SR20DET application, heavy duty clutch series, which is 50% over stock pedal effort.

For KA wise, we are not sure the facts off hand. &nbsp;But you are right you won't need puck series if you are not even anywhere near 300hp.

You don't like driving with a hard clutch? I think I have problems... I'm the same way with suspension.. Set it as hard as it gets.. :-)

Puck disc suck. Im speaking from experiance with the ACT 6 Puck disc. I would find a clutch that is a puck type disc but one that is spring loaded.

I'm pulling up an old post, but I found something that some of you might be able to use. &nbsp;Since I'm shopping for a new clutch now.

There's a company called Clutchnet that manufactures sprung puck clutches. &nbsp;I also drive a Honda (with an ACT clutch), and frequent other boards to see a lot of people switch from ACT to the Clutchnet clutches. &nbsp;Check it out.
