You've succumbed to economics. In a sense crimson rocket is rota, he is capitalizing on a niche in the market. You want a type x lip, but you aren't going to pay 500+(idk how much they cost) to have one imported from japan, right? No, you want a cheap FRP replica of something that will probably get messed up (like wheels) so you aren't too butt hurt when something happens.
Hats off to Crimson, do your thing, make that money. Give the people what they want.
We are all people, and by nature we are going to pursue our personal interests.
As i tried to do before with the boat thing, i'm done with the whole this or that. It just made me chuckle a little when i saw your post in the kouki aero thread.

Really?
As people have already stated, there's a clear difference between
Knock Offs and
Replicas.
Do me a favor, go find an OEM Kouki 180 lip that isn't beat to shit, overpriced, or in Japan.
The whole purpose of having the lip
REPLICATED here in the US was to make it easily accessible to all. Yes, there was another company making the lip here in the US, but they weren't reliable and had terrible communication.
Of course you give people what they want. Difference is, some companies completely skimp on quality and only care about profit. Too many people supporting these companies instead of supporting the companies that are constantly reviewing, updating, and improving their products (SPL comes to mind).
I personally drove to San Fransisco to pick up my brand new OEM lip like two years ago. I've only seen a handful of lips go up for sale on here since then. All of them scooped up immediately.
Comparing me to Rota is hilarious. Awesome logic.

It's not about having patience. The problem is, they don't go up for sale often and when they are available, you're already going up against dozens of people around the world trying to outbid you (Yahoo Japan). The only chance you have of winning it is by overpaying.
There's also a reason why companies go with FRP over Urethane. Having parts made out of Urethane is
EXPENSIVE. Unless you're making hundreds of said parts, it's simply not worth the money to have the urethane parts made. FRP molds are much easier to make and a fraction of the cost. Absolutely nothing wrong with FRP parts. Plenty of companies out there that make great fitting, strong, and lightweight FRP parts.
This thread has more than run its course.
At the end of the day, people will continue to buy lower quality/inferior products simply to save a few bucks. Nothing we say and/or do will stop them.
It's your money. Your car. Your life. Do what you want with it.
