Easiest thing to do would be to change the tranny fluid, check for leaks at the tranny, slave & master cyls & lines, bleed the system (maybe replace the clutch fluid)... then check/adjust the pedal travel, inspect the pedal bracket and check/adjust the pushrod travel behind the MC... If all that is good, there is a good chance the clutch needs to rebuilt. Either way, if everything external seems fine, the tranny needs to come out for a closer look.

Aside from that, your tranny sychro ring(s) could be cooked- which in this case can be a good (lesser of two evils) thing... assuming you'd rather replace an SR tranny for 100-200 bucks vs. spend $1K rebuilding that clutch
