Spacers.
Well I did search but couldn't really find anything about this. My idea is to machine a spacer out of either aluminum or heat treated steel whichever. And have the bolt pattern fit my 240 but the rim pattern fit a 6x5.5 wheel pattern. Is there anything bad about doing this? Will it add to much stress? any thoughts would help

The adapter will have to be fairly large (diameter) to get that bolt pattern, compared to a normal spacer. If you do it right, no, it won't cause a problem, but, why not just get 4/5 lug wheels?

Thanks guys,Yeah I am in need of a project for school this year and I was thinking about making up a set of spacers so I could run my truck wheels..With different tires of course.
With the offset and width these would stick way so far out. But It was kinda just something to do. Wheel is 15x10 with a backspacing of 3.52. ![]() ![]() |

Those pics are of my wheels off my truck.. I plan to get some black ones for it, then use those on my car just because I can. It is a project for school also.

Question. Why trouble yourself making a spool when you can just weld and plate the spider gears?
Why would you put beadlocks on a car?

Read post 6. I don't want to destroy my old carrier and to find an old one shipped to me i'm out over $100, when I can machine one for free. Cause It's my car and I build it MY way, just like your car is YOURS and you build it YOUR way. Also I'll have this set of rims sitting around after I pick up some new ones. I don't plan to run it for life, it's just something to do and see how it turns out. |
