pound the old ones, out with a hammer.
but press the new ones in. just using an impact gun WILL NOT seat the new ones all the way and as you drive they will pull through more making your wheels loose, and possibly stripin your studs or lugs. make sure you press them back in.

I have never had an issue with the washer method. It works like a press, but by pulling them into place. You just keep turning by hand, with the hub held in place, until it can go no further, just like a press. I always check the backside to see if the rim of the stud is touching the back of the hub.

when i tried to seat the extended studs i actually stripped one of the them. i used an impact and i think it was too powerful and just ripped the threads apart. it wasn't cross threaded cause the nut went on smoothly all the way.
although it's bad to smack the wheel bearings like that, it was fun. ![]() i mean, i did it without pullin the wheel bearings off. ran with them for about 5months and was fine. i don't know about any longer, changed to 5lug. Good luck with it.

Taking the studs off my first 240 was fun. I brought out the 45 pound weight and setup a jackstnand with a chisel/ metal point, and swung. I still took me a couple of hits and a busted nail, but they all came out. A hammer works for me now.
