R32 seat owners:

Hi guys.
I'm joining the R32 seat owner's club.

I want to see how you guys fixed the seat belt connector erection problem.
the buckle part sticks up waayy too high and pokes my elbow while I'm steering.

Its a simple cut and reweld or even just drill another hole, I know.. but I still want to see who has done what.

ALSO,
post up pics of your extended outside rear mounting points if you got 'em.

thanks

Yeah, I haven't seen a remedy for it yet.

Just need to get use to the viagra shit.

I guess you could look around for a replacement from another car or something.

Fuck if I know.

Can you just use the S14 one?

For the rear mount- I just use a large washer to hold it in place.

haha, it seems like we're all too lazy to fix it,
probably can find another buckle that fits better in the junk yard but we're all too lazy...

as far as the last tab, mine has a welded extended tab, i'll post pics one of these days...

hehehe... i remembered when i had the same problem...

youre going to have to drill a hole to drop that buckle part lower... i used my s13 buckle which worked fine...

as far as the mounting tabs... this is what is did:

found various parts and brackets at work... and made this in 3 minutes... the rest of the mounting points line up just fine...

that bolt/bracket is pretty safe... i drifted on those all day and it held fine...

ignore that little icon of a guy w/ an aching back... i had it up there to show that these seats helped my aching back... =)

btw these are r33 gt-r seats but i'm pretty sure they are the same...

LOL at everyone not fixing it. Really, so you redid the front mounting tab? the one that doesn't line up for me is the rear.

You can't daily drive a car legally with a harness and no seat belt. Otherwise, I'd probably go that route.

I'm using the stock s14 ones and it stands up way too high. It works, but the belt doesn't touch the right side of my body. haha

Thanks for the info guys.

i think you can line up the rear but it will come short at the front... i simply bolted these brackets onto the existing hole to extend it... very easy... i'm pretty sure it'll take you no more than 30 seconds to put it on...

i tried drilling a new hole, but the steel is hard and wasted my bits. it isn't really wide enough to drill a new hole anyway. I went to the junkyard and got some buckles out of another nissan. I believe it was a b13 sentra, they are the perfect length but there are two mounting holes. Cut off the extra hole and it's perfect.

I THINK this is it, looks like this anyway:

well the average going rate for a set of R32 GTR seats are $500-600. I reecently got a set of R33 GTR seats in mint condition for $600. I really do not have a problem with that price because normally people sell the R33 seats for $700-800. Though being almost exactly like the 32 seats they have a bit more padding and the center section breaths rather than being straight suede. Either seat is dope though. Some of my favorite seats for our cars.

It also is the most expensive i.e. prohibitively expensive.
