Relocating the harness is the "RIGHT" way to go about it.

Grab a hammer and beat the hell of it works for the metal. The harness needs more finesse then that.

This topic was discussed before.

Relocate or protect with sheetmetal/aluminum.

the hammer is one option, also changing to 215/35 tires will help some too.

take a day off and do the right thing... just relocate the harness, it may be more work but at least youll have a clear mind that your not rubbing against it and not damaging anything...

While your doing all that relocating make sure you look around at the other areas and see if theres any rubbing anywhere else. If so then just pound the shit out of that area.

i didn't think i needed to relocate cuz the only part that's rubbing is the rubber boot and the metal around it.

You are going to have to move the harness sometime anyway (ie: different alignment, going lower, new wheels)

Enjuku sells something called AP Boss LAP Fender Harness Protector for 240sx...

I say check that out, and if you're creative...you can come up with something and make your own.

I think you meant 215/40/17

Mainly caster and hammering / ziptie harness out of the way should work

You don't need to physically relocate the whole thing to engine bay

Just get slack from the front side in engine bay and the harness from the harness boot should have more slack to pull backwards out of the way

i remember going thru tat, my harness unclipped in my driver fender well and the tires roasted the wires and my car went into a hault. ended up pushing the car to the side. EK! got a new harness and relocated it, but not everything is functional correctly its all good. ghetto wind wipers ftw.

Is there a way to relocate it into the frame the fender covers? I want to move mine but don't want to move it INTO the engine bay...mainly because it'll look like crap. I don't have my alignment yet so I'm just going to change the caster and use a hammer at first, but if that doesn't work I want a good plan...other then running wires all over the place, I'd like them to be as hidden as possible (I'm thinking I don't get that option).

theres enough play that you can pull and route the harness along-side the frame (in between Fender and Frame). I then ziptied it and never again had a rubbing problem. I did this when I had the fenders out the car, so don't know how difficult it would be with the fenders on there. Here's how low the car is currently:

usually the tire rubs the top of the harness. It looks as if you are rubbing more towards the rear. I would think something is bent like your control arms.

You guys all fail.

Put 8* of caster up front and kiss your harness rubbing problems goodbye.

I had the same problem on my car in the front too.

DON'T HAMMER BACK THERE.

Not necessary.

8 easy steps to solve wheel well clearance problems:

1 put your wheels on.
2 drive, hard.
3 take wheels off.
4 note where there is rubbing.
5 smash it in with BFH.
6 spray paint wheel well.
7 drive, hard.
8 remove wheel and inspect for rubbing again.

repeat if necessary.

not rocket science.

but yeah, in your case, the reason why you're rubbing the harness is because your caster needs adjustment, and 215/45's are tall.
run a lower profile next time and also take an hour to ziptie your harness up, then you can lower your car down to the es100 letters.
