S14 Gauge Pods

Well I know I was supposed to have these pics up sooner but my car is taking longer than expected in the paint shop. Anywho on to the pics, no official final price yet but if there's enough interest it will have to be minimum of 20 guys. I will have price by that time though. I wanted it for my personal S14 but figured maybe I would see if others may want this piece as well.

Let me know what you guys think. It will only fit 52mm gauges as that is the most popular size. Mine will be painted satin black for now but if there's enough interest i'm going to see about getting done in abs plastic to match factory interior.

The buttons can be in factory location if need be(security, hazard ect ect) mine are like that because my profec b is mounted in between the buttons.

Regards,
Robert

Would you be interested in a ready to paint version such as this or ABS plastic? RTP would be way cheaper than ABS plastic version due to having to make molds ect ect.

Robert

I'm only doing 52 for the time being as that is what I'm using and he already has everything setup for the 52. If the 52mm version does well I will def look into a 60mm version.

I will hopefully find out soon. I just know I'm paying $295 for it painted with gauges installed. Rough guess would be $250 painted any color you want and $20 cheaper without paint. For ABS I will have to look into it. I'm not doing a run of 100 or anything large like that to get a huge price decrease

Robert

I'm speaking with him right now to get accurate pricing on:
20 at a time
50 at a time
100 at a time

For the time being I think we will only do them in FRP to keep cost down.

Regards,
Robert

That's totally fine, nothin wrong with having more options. I really had no intention about bringing my piece on the market but I have received a lot of compliments and figured why not post it up. I have a/c with my sr so covering up the vents was not an option. Texas summers are ruthless!!

$300 for what? A new piece from the dealer is about $90. Materials you're looking at another $20. Your labor rates must be insane.

and to sell these you will be required to become a trader also of this forum - especially considering there is a large difference between material and sale price

if only it was to suit RHD and 60mm... hmm may have to make my own

any tips on how you did it?

I love it! Up high enough to still be visible, but not actually on top of the dash (like my 60mm gauges are now). I'd be interested, if it was less than $100.

hmm...i'd maybe try doing this myself . any tips on what materials to use? im guessing cut a 52mm hole with a holesaw bit...then use something with diamter of 52mm(what should I use???) and use fiberglass to fill in cracks/etc and make smooth.

idk, seems like the angle on two of them may be too much, because it seems to cut off the numbers and the end of the needle.

yeah you know where its kinda pointing to but idk, seems like all three with the full face should be easily visible.

depends tho, ones your in the driver seat looking at them then the final verdict can be made... but 52's arent bad compared to the stock oem jdm ones with little of the face used compared to these aftermarket ones.
