Dumping your S14. Problems :(
Hey guys, I wanna lower my S14 alot lower then what it already is. My problem is my tire rubs with the wiring harness and it already ate the plastic so I was forced to raise the car up. I dont have the splash guards on it yet. Tire size are 225/40 on 18x8.5 +40 and 235/40 9.5 +38 What do you guys do to be so slow and not eat at your wiring harness. Thank you. Ive always had low cars and now I feel weird having this one so high. Thanks once again.

There is a write up on here somewhere.
http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...ht=harness+rub heres one example. removed your fender and move the harness along the chassi and zip tie. voila problem solved.

yea take your whole fender off, pull the wiring harness up higher where the frame is and use zip ties to hold it up.
Sorry if this is a little off topic but what kind of camera do you use for those picture. BTW, nice pics. |

yeah, relocate it, its piece of cake
Only "problem" is S14 harness is a lot shorter than S13, so there won't be that much of slack for you to pull up. I have to drill 2 extra holes to zip tie the harness tight

stretch your tires, then for shits and giggles, flip your wheels inside out and mount the face to the hub - offset always make shit look lower
right guys? right?

i did what everyone else stated and wrapped a whole lot of electric tape on it! i mean a lot! it has been holding up good and im slammed! if it ever becomes a problem i will probably end up wrapping it in something stronger.
P.S. love the way your white coupe sits |

http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=148857 oh yeah, i've really never seen anyone use this, but a company called "AP Boss" makes a fender harness protector http://storesense.megawebservers.com...der/Detail.bok |

Either relocate your wireharness like everyone said or you can buy a harness plate/protector that enjuku racing sells. Its also on sale for $90 if i recall.
EDIT: Clark beat me too it. Also its only $60.

I had to relocate mine twice...first time I did the best I could and it still rubbed. 2nd time I removed the rubber gromet and got a ton of slack and made sure it would never rub again.

S14's only have the harness on the driver side. While your tucking the harness, you should tuck the hood release cable while your at it... ask me how i know..
this is the only crappy pic i got of my harness tuck ![]() |
