I know on domestic equipment, OEMs and aftermarket offer different speedo gears to help give the correct speed on the speedometer when changing rear ratio/tire size.

Does Nissan or anyone offer somethign similar to this for our cars?

humm deffantly helped out with my fox body back in the day a set of 4:11 put some pep in the car all around low budget mod

Nissan doesn't give a fuck about these cars.

I think there is a pot on the inside of the cluster. Maybe if you mess with that you could get in the ball park? who knows.

This is at least one direction I can look at. I've got some junk clusters from A32s and U13's around...I'll hafta tear into them I think.

Hehe. The 4.6 gear works great so far Mike. Really row through the gears too

As far as cheap: It's VERY much so. All you need to source is the front pumpkin from a 2001 (and similar axle style) Xterra. They come in 4.36 (base) 4.6 (SE) and 4.9 (certain other models).

It's essentially the same differential internally, just in a different case.

you can get more for these cars than you think, if you know how to find it.

This is intresting. I have been thinking of going to a lower rear end ratio but do not wan a speedo to be way off.

Ah, this was exactly what I was looking for! I know most domestic companies offered these for their transmission (I have a drawer full of Ford C6 and C4 Automatic speedo gears)....

Now I just need to see which one will work best for my car...it says highest number slows the speedo most....

Only the oem replacement is still available, I just ordered the 20t the other day and the rest were discontinued

ok retarded question- xterra's are awd? the 4.36 comes in the base model front pumpkin?? can anyone prove this?
