bellhousing swap

ive heard of people swappign the bellhousings from the the ka24de trans in the s13 for (better ratios) in for the older z31.... so if this is possible. can i swap my ka bellhousing onto the late modle z31 87 plus turbo trans? it is the same trans internals as the 90-96 turbo trans from my understanding so that would be the strongest trans.

or do i have to use a friggen kit ie:

Xcessive VG30 / KA Transmission Adapter [ N-KA-VG-TA ] - Enjuku Racing - Performance Parts and High Quality Fabrication

all the bolts on the middle of the tranny (holding on the bellhousing>
A few 12mm bolts for the input shaft cover
1 snap ring after you take that cover off, and it pop's off enjoy.

Um, no. The Z31 non turbo does indeed use the same 71C 5speed as the KA, SR, CA, etc.
The Z31 turbo does not though, early models used a T5, later ones used the beefier set from the Z32. Since these were different transmissions the bellhousing pattern does not match to the case from the non turbo, so you cannot do what you're hoping. If so, no one would have ever made an adapter kit, think about it. It's not like you found the loophole.

Why would you think that would work? Are you thinking clearly at all?

Engine block -> Bellhousing -> Transmission case.

If the T5 bolts to a VG30E block with the bellhousing designed to fit the T5, how would it bolt to a KA block as well?
