Z33 Question open to any advice, criticism, idea etc...

Well im currently building my girls brother's Z33

When i got the car in my hands ive done Stillen STI Ceramic headers, Custom Test Pipes, and welded em up to his Invidia Exhaust he had already got with the car... Car also has Fujita Short ram intakes...
I was wondering if there was any other bolt ons that would help with building the car all motor, cuz he really has his mind set not to go boost what so ever

i have plans on how to ima go about building it up a lil more break his 420- 450hp goal just not quite sure how much its goin to take to get it there

car has 6 spd gear box, with aluminum drive shaft, and factory optional LSD That im proly goin to re-gear
Motor is the VQ35HR
Also he wants to drop it bought an inch. What set-ups would be bang for the buck

Thanks,

All motor builds at that power level are going to be more expensive than just going boost.

Good luck.

Plenum spacer won't work on an HR, but cams/valvetrain and headwork (ie; port and polish) would be decent, but even with a flash would probably not even net him 300whp. With nitrous it would bring him a lot closer but in the end forced induction would be the best choice and far cheaper compared to trying to build an NA vq reaching into the 400's. Hell the nismo 380 rs is making 350 hp with a stroker kit Fairlady Z Version NISMO Type 380RS DEBUT!!

alright alright i see, and yea i found out the hard way that the plentum spacer didnt work as soon as it got here and i sold the next day....

So as for boost related building: Supercharger vs. Turbo on these HR motor which feels, reacts, is more cost efficient being done the right way????

So he/you ditched the carbon fiber drive shaft for an aluminum one?

450hp? N/A? Bolt in a LS7.

The most powerful NA DE in America around 298whp and that is after $10,000 in work.

HRs put down ~280whp, you are not going to add 200hp.

It's my opinion that N/A mods to any 350Z is pointless and a waste of money. Pick an exhaust you like (sound/style), and pick an intake you like. Done.

You will never motive the 3-5whp gain of a spacer and headers are not shaving a second off your quarter.

Mods to do? Lightweight Flywheel, Clutch, Coilovers, wheels.

the motor is also a HR motor not a DE
thats he he had got it fromw hen he bought from the dealer last year i saw it and was at AW at first but i also wasnt sure if they all came with the carbon fiber drive shaft or both of em depending on how loaded the car came from factory..

Also to note this guy isnt the "Ima hit the track or go slide this thing around the track" knda guy he just wants his car a certain way, kind of a luxury hes giving himself for working his ass off... and as far as you guys have commented that NA Build isnt worth the money or time cuz in the end its just more money spent than power added

You're welcome, and cost wise a supercharger is going to be the way to go, but more than likely won't yield as much as a twin turbo kit would, but the gtm and stillen superchargers(I'm not talking about stillens POS roots blower either) are making around 500-550whp if I recall correctly
