Just replaced mine. I took a tiny flat-head oiled it up and tapped it with the hammer in between the seal and housing, then pried it up a bit to loosen it up. Took a needle-nose pliers and just yanked it out.

That would be ideal. It's not what I did though. I just oiled it up good, put it on there straight and applied pressure evenly with my fingers little by little as far as it would go. Drove it around for a good 15 - 30 minutes, no leaks whatsoever.

Just be careful not to score the housing with the screwdriver, cause then it will leak. Once you get a good grasp on it with the pliers just yank it out with all your might... You may need to pry it in multiple spots to break the seal. GL.

![]() with a Seal remover tool. OR...bend a flat head screw driver's edge 90 degrees[one that's got a messed up tip preferred] and use that as a remover tool by yanking on it.

X2, I was surprised this wasn't the first response. Once you've pulled a seal with one, you'll never mess with any other method. Not to mention, a seal puller is a convenient tool to keep around any garage.
