Which new car would you buy?

I'm just curious, which new cars (within the last few years or coming soon) are you guys fans of? If you were gonna sell your 240 and/or upgrade to the $20k-$30k range, what would you spend your hard earned $$$ on?

for me, perhaps:

2012 Subaru WRX sedan?

2013 Subaru BRZ?

2010 Hyundai Genesis Turbo Coupe?

not a fan of fwd but possibly 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo?

what do you guys think? 2013 ford fusion? 2013 Dodge Dart? 2013 Chevy Sonic? 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth? lol

I would suggest you test drive them all & decide.
none are bad choices although I don't like the idea of a veloster turbo (if you want frugality get the regular veloster)

If I had to choose right now the BRZ looks most tempting, but it also depends on it's asking price too.
Above 26k, no way.

If I had the cash I'd get a BR-Z new but I don't right now so I'll wait and see how they do for the first couple years, then pick one up used.

I would probably get the Subaru WRX STI

I like the roominess of the WRX and the sportiness of it so that would for sure be my first choice. I'm still a little weary of the BR-Z

i guess the point of this thread is to gauge interest in newer cars. for some reason the 370 never grew on me they way the 350 did.

I would get wrx. I would not want to buy the first models of the brz since any new car always has problems that get corrected later on.

I thought regular WRX 0-60 was 5.x seconds. STi is the 0-60 in 4.5-4.9 sec.

To the OP, I'm currently in a similar situation so this helps me too lol , but I have a slightly higher budget.

Make a list of pro's and con's of each car. Afterwards, go and test drive each car. This is very important because just because the car looks nice, doesn't mean you'll like the way it drives. Test driving will definitely help in your decision. You're comparing RWD vs AWD. Do you get a lot of nasty weather where you are?

this sounds like the best plan. ive driven a 2010 Mazda3 many times. they are fun, handle great and are very comfortable. now with the Skyactiv engine it has the MPG to be a great DD. i also used to own a Mazdaspeed3, they are really fun too. just a tad too much power for FWD.

i just sold my Evo X and bought a non turbo Veloster. now im looking into getting an S13 for fun.

Must admit, I hated the shape when I first saw them, but they've grown on me

30 vs 40mpg and a few grand less (entry models) is what's keeping me looking at the Mazda 3

also the fact that the 4wd models are all automatics

I test drove the skyactive and liked it
it's a solid chassis, comfortable but doesn't drive like a couch

how do you like the Veloster so far?
all the reviews I've read seem to think it isn't as fun to drive as other cars in its class.

I'm liking the new Ford Focus 'ST'.

Ford spent a lot of time dialing in the handling, per the magazine tests.

2.0T, 4-door hatchback...looks to be a solid choice for around $25,000

if i were to buy a new car, probably something practical to haul shit and get good gas mileage. LOL

i been looking at the new Prius V, but its probably a little bit above 30k depending on your options. it doesn't look that bad anymore to me anymore (i used to think they looked like a giant 4 door CR-X) and more like a wagon with the new update.

then the usual cars such as honda fit and mazda 5.

for sports cars, impreza, bmw 328i, or 370z but they are all over 20-30k. maybe a camaro or mustang in that range, if i needed a car to get to work at this moment to get to work and it had to be new and a sports car, but if i was buying a toy i wouldn't buy that.
