Nismo clutch slave cylinder alternatives???
What's up guys? I was wondering if theres an alternative to the expensive Nismo units.. I have an Exedy Hyper Single, and I'm about to replace the slave for the second time on this clutch alone. It's a cheap autozone or advance piece. I'm just tired of having to replace these fuckers... So.. is there a place to buy these cheaper??? I read a post from a guy selling custom ones with a larger piston, but can't find it again. I would rather not spent $140+ for a slave cylinder.. but if there are no alternatives, then I am SOL. Any help would be appreciated.

the thread you're thinking about is on FA.
Supposedly Z31 slave works with some shimming, but I don't care to try. Also, Autozone is known to crap out, hence you'll notice everyone tell you to get a new slave from Nissan. Hope this helps |

I went thru like 3-4 of the $20 cheap autozone clutch slaves in like 6 months. Those things are crap. I ended up buying an oem clutch slave from nissan for like $50 and its been good to me for over a year and counting...

Thew only reason you would want the nismo slave is if the pedal feel is too stiff for the clutch. If you can handle it or are used to it, get the oem one unless price is no worry. If you are looking for the best price on either slave, westco justin is the man. He posted a commercial classified on here for the nismos a week or so ago.
BTW the nabco/tokico is the oem one. You won't find one that says nissan on it. And doesn't autozone have insane warranties on their parts? I would just take that old slave back and tell them they keep failing on you and you're upgrading to the real oem one. |
