Recommend me brake calipers
I'm looking for suggestions for calipers. The only constraints is they have to be OEM. They can be from any car, but it has to be OEM. I would like to also exclude exotic marques like Porsche, Ferrari, etc., namely due to price and availability.
Right now my top choice is Evo 8-9 Brembos or Z33 Track Brembos. Any suggestions? |

z33 track brembos are heavy as fuck
wilwood is probably the best bang for the buck, but for whatever reason u want OEM... is there any reason why aluminum 30mm 300zx calipers aren't good enough...? |

This is what everybody says, but the brakes is the one part I don't mind unsprung weight on.

OEM = discount on replacement parts. When you go through a set of pads every other week, it adds up. |

Buy something other than OEM replacement pads... ![]() I have 33 GTR Brembo's with Apex*i 2 peice rotors and Endless CC-X pads up front. Works greats. Wilwood's will be cheaper than any OEM setup on initial cost and rebuild. |

Listen, all i have to say
is my R32 GTR, with drilled rotors, stinless lines, and stock BMC, with endless CCR and CCX (i have both) stops my 3800 lbs wagon, in the mountains, for liek 30 minutes at a time OEM is best IMO.

I can't do drilled discs for my application because repeated triple digit stops will crack it even factory Brembo drilled discs. I think right now Z32 aluminium is my top choice unless I can source Brembo calipers at a cheaper price. I can get the Z32 for about $300US for the front pair. |

Z32's with the proper BMC setup rocks.
On street tires at full weight, they never let me down. I imagine with a race setup, at the cost, they would be more than sufficient.

Z06 6 piston calipers are like $200 each new IIRC. Just need to find a 14" rotor I think

No way. Not a chance. Maybe 2000?! Edit: These are dirt cheap actually. But the 6-Pistons, not so much. Although the 6-pistons at that price would still be a badass setup.

totally went over my budget with this setup . i spent way more that what i spected |

also, the sliders you posted are far from complete. you still need pads, rotors, and brackets. |

You may know the internet, but you fail at sarcasm and reading comprehension. R32 GTR is a brembo setup right? Is it really that much better than Z32s? Doin brakes over the winterrrrr

What about STi Brembos?
Evo/STi calipers use a 32mm rotor, z32 is 30mm I think z33 brembos are 30mm thick too. Just be careful with the evo 8 brown-bo's. the first gen calipers always fade and peel. |

the porterfield pads for my alcons are $75 a caliper last multiple track day events. I've got 4 on them right now and plenty of pad life. OEM pads just won't hang.

I actually like my setup now. I run Hawk pads and Brembo discs, but I know that if I need replacement parts and can't wait for shipping, I can always run auto parts store Maxima pads and Altima discs. I only want to upgrade the calipers because I'm going 5 lug. |
