When the car warms up, it switches to a hot fuel map. With the CTS bad, it never does so, so the car runs rich, dumping fuel, and goes into open loop.

would a bad CTS cause crappy idle as well?

i have the same problem. when my dohc starts bogging/hesitating the temp gauage shows that the motor's getting cooler.

also, be sure to clean your throttle body. i had some gunk on mine and when the car would warm up it would melt that gunk and the throttle plate would stick while idling.

I had this same problem on my sohc, but it was throwing the EGR code, I believe it is 32? Just replaced the EGR and some other things and its running fine now. My car would also run fine up until it warmed up and then it would just die at around 2500 rpm's. Is your car throwing any codes bro?

You forgot to mention your car would misfire every now and them.

Video record it. IMO your car sounds like shit. so let ppl with more expertise hear whats going on.

I'd also check, if you haven't yet, cap and rotor as well as the intake.

I too have the same problem I idle at 1900 RPM it sucks, it misfires at idle and off of heavy throttle. Checked timing it lined up good but rpm went up, plugs get fouled easy after like 5 minutes of use. They're not oily or with gas, they're black and dry.

sounds like your MAF may have crud built up on the actual sensor wire.
take some throttle body cleaner and spray but dont touch the wire on your Maf.

if possible try swapping it with a known good maf. I had a truck with that problem. or could have an intake leak something could of gotten loose when you hit that bump . try misting your intake with something like starter fluid see if your get a reaction from your idle. just be carefull

my two cents good luck...

Bad or dirty IACV. I've had this problem. Cleaning it out with some carb/brake cleaner works as a temporary fix. There was a thread somewhere here on zilvia.com that showed exactly where to spray.

I'm sort of wondering what made you rule out the idle air control valve so quickly?
