Vietnamese soup Pho....ummmmmmm
jus had some and i have to say its damn good easily in my top 5 foods.
lots of hot sauce the brown sauce and the fish sauce and wala!!! awesome soup.. ive had Pho 88,75,76,67 and other numbers also a place called Pho REAL it was pretty funny.. pretty good wit the chop stix to grabbin on da noodles this stuff hits the spot especially now that its cold.. also if theres a couch near by im down for the count, it puts me too sleep for some reason.. anybody else likes it... ![]()

Haha, damn...you just reminded me of the first thing imma eat when i get back to CA on Sat. Well right after I had a double double...
There's 2 Pho places that I used to go to alot. There's the one in Fairfield that i love cuz they also make fresh strawberry slushie with tapioca in it. Then there's the one in UCD thats really good too. |

Yeah it is good for the cold weather.
I think good pho is based on good broth. I don't think its the best soup-noodle dish ever, but it is surprising hard to get sick of. If your dousing it with a crapload of sauce, it probably means the broth is no good, or you can't really appreciate the basic flavours of the broth. It's like dousing coffee with sugar & creamer. understandable if your drinking 7-11 coffee, but maybe not so much if its good stuff. personally I just like to throw in a few fresh green jalapenos and some mint leaves they give you. Stir it in, and eat immediately. Usually I have it with brisket instead of the sliced beef. There are a lot of other fun Viet Dishes too. I love the lemon-grass pork chops, egg-loaf thingies, viet curries w/ baguette, and the the bahn xeo (sp?) crepes. 7 styles cooked beef is also interesting. Out here in socal, i like the Golden Deli in SGV or Brodard in West-Minister. |

when i go to my local pho spot, i always add a little bit of chunky sriracha, smooth sriracha, and oyster sauce. i'm straight off the pepper paste.
toss in some green shit a few bean sprouts and good to go! |

my gf's parents make insaneeeeee pho like off the charts...
i've had it at several restaurants, one called pho-natic and it doesn't come close to the home made.. just a bunch of hoisen sauce and hot chili sauce and squeeze in some fresh lime. I miss it so much, haven't had some in a while. and viets are the pho masters, some laos people make pho but its not as good and they put too much stuff in it. If your eating it without a heineken yer doin' it wrong. |
