So it sems like everytime I take a long road trip, I blow out another oil pressure sending unit and get oil sprayed all over the passenger side of my engine. I have installed 3 brand new ones now. They are all the same though, metal "nut" with the plastic insert. It seems when the engine heats up on road trips it effects the plastic and causes the unit to start leaking badly. Is there a better unit out there that I haven't been able to find? Do I just invest in an oil filter relocation kit and install a different sensor? Help me out Zilvia.

p.s. I'm sure Russ will jump in here with the perfect sollution and make me feel dumb for not knowing it to begin with. But that's ok, that's why we LIKE Russ!

Or maybe gcivcx will have yet another answer from his seemingly endless supply of Tech Knowledge. Either way, I get the answer I seek.

when you put the sending unit in do you use teflon tape to help stop it from leaking ?

Hmm, do you have an oil temp gauge? It is really weird for that to happen. If it's all good, then I would go with the oil filter relocation kit.

Teflon tape was used. No oil temp gauge.

you could always put a tee there and relocate the sending unit.

I'm not using an aftermarket gauge. It's just a stock Sending unit, screwed into the stock location with teflon tape to help prevent leaks. I'm thinking of just buying the Oil Filter Relocation kit, and moving the sending unit with it. Anybody know a good kit to do what I want? I've looked around, but I'm not sure which one I should use. Something like this preferrably.

That's the way I would go. Just talk to Harp. Or you can add in Phase 2's piece at the block.
