Angry My Poor S14...Got Owned By a Bitch On A Cellphone!!!

so go figure been waiting to get my car out of paint for 5 months...got the car back 6 weeks ago at a cost of around $4.5k...and as I was leaving work last night, an ambulance at full code, sirens and lights, was entering the intersection...so what do you do...you slow down to let ambulance go through the intersection...so thats exactly what me and the car next to me did...next thing i know....i was thrown through the intersection...so i drive and pull over to the side after the intersection...a few seconds later the driver that hit me gets out of her car on her cellphone...the bitch hit me when she was on her cellphone...at this point i didn't even look at my car...while she was still on her phone she kept trying to appologize to me...i told her to not even talk to me and that the only person that she needed to talk to was the deputy. Who showed up maybe 2 min. after the accident....the ambulance driver that i stopped for had called ahead and had fire, paramedics, and a squad car their fuckin fast. The Officer took the complete report. and concluded that she was totally at fault for failing to yield to an emergencey vehicle...so where does that leave me?...take a look...

From this....

to this....

Fuckin Bitches and cellphones ...well i can rest easier knowing that the front of the car didn't recieve any damage... and she does have a reputable insurance company...AAA...so it's just a matter of time before shit is taken care of...what really pisses me of....is my full custom fiberglass show system is in pieces...a mean litterally pieces....anybody have any thoughts of what i should do with the car????

Thanks For any advice

Sorry man. Better start getting receipts together cuz you'll probably have to fight it being totalled.

Cellphones + most drivers = bad. I'd rather be on the road with drunks. I'm dead serious.

That sucks man........ well if they're gonna go through insurance then they're probably gonna total it out and pay you. But I think if that happens you have to give them ur car..... I'd start taking everything off the car that you want then give them the car...... Hate to say it but they probably wont give you very much for it because it's so old, but i don't know for sure. That sux man, keep us posted.

same thing happen to my lil bro in his kouki a week ago. almost looks the same where it buckled. but they also pushed him into another car in front so the front is pushed in also. airbags went off and now they are totaling it.

if i was you i'll get them to total it and make sure you're getting a decent amount back.

i wouldn't want to fix a car like that.

Dammit,

Another stupid person on a cell phone! I don't know about repairing that though, it looks like some major damage. The insurance company is going to call that a total loss, and then give you a check for what they feel is the value of the car. If I were you, I'd bring up the fact that you just got it painted, you might get some extra money, since that raises the value of your car. Other than that, pull off all the parts that you want to keep, and either sell them, or transfer them to a new S14. Good luck, brother!

Take all the parts off that you can. Let them pay you for the whole thing. Start over.

Or buy the car back for the front end if the price is right. If you have a good motor, I would try to keep that as well.

I agree with everyone that believes that chassis is a lost cause, start stripping it down, and have them just pay you for the "car" part.

Put 4 spare wheels on it, strip off everything you LOVE about the car, and leave everything you don't, they will keep the car, and some other ass hole is gonna get all your cool shit.

You're living an S-chassis worst nightmare.

My condolences, good luck on your next car.

That really sucks but I wouldn't bother repairing it either. Will you get reimbursed for your incredibly expensive (and of dubious taste) paint job?

Like everyone said gather reciepts. I had a beat up 99 accord with 240k miles. Original value they wanted to give me was 3k i fought it up to 7.5k. Just find adds for 240's in comparable conditions then gather up your reciepts. She hit you so its your ballgame. A settlement is the agreement between you the insurance company on the value of your car.

The quarter panel ripples under the C-pillars lead me to believe that the frame folded. You will want to get out the FSM and go thru the body measurements on the underside of the car.

Guy's -> How does a professional estimate come into play here?

I had my car valued thru a vehicle estimate. The value is a few grand more than a stock 240. I did the estimate because I do not have receipts (bought the car as/is).

My insurance company tried to tell me that the estimate does not matter . . . i figured they said that because they are totall lowballers and suck at life (liberty mutual).

Not that i am worried, i am sure that with a lawyer's help I could definitely get what it is worth should it be stolen due to the fact that i DO have an estimated value.

were you injured at all?
because alot of times, you won't feel it until days later after the accident

get a lawyer, they'll know what to do, especially with an easy case as this

i'd part that out, get another one, it's not like s chassis = gold or antique classic cars, it's mass produced, you'll find a clean one eventually...

car is totalled. What you need to do is A: Be prepared to show them market value for the car with your paint job and whatnot. B: Show them every receipt for parts. At that point two things could happen. Given that it is a total but you have more value than the total they could just cut a straight check and let you keep her. Or they could total it for market value and let you buy it back from them for like a $200-300 off the total check. The trick is get them to cover the cost of the paint. That way when you buy it back you get your parts to put on another car and you can part the rest of it out.

she's at fault, you don't need to go there.Just be persistant and follow what people are saying about receipts and getting proof of fair market value.

Whats Ironic is I am switching my insurance to SCAA aka AAA. This month in fact!I can get both my cars covered with liability, uninsured motorist and comprehensive for $1550 a year. If I add renters Insurance then anything that is added to the cars performance wise up to 20k is covered by renters insurance.!! All I need to do is keep receipts. I am so happy about this.

well... good news is i have about 10k in reciepts....not including the car itself...should i buy it back and make a badass RB track car? use some of the insurance money for a downpayment on a new Chevy 2500 diesel crew cab? so i can tow my car to the track?
