Play in tie rod?

I just changed my inner tie rod and i bolted everything back together, however there is a bit of play in the tie rod. I'm pretty sure this is just because they are ball joints and my other side does it, however, i just wanna make sure before i start driving and end up breaking something i dont have the money to fix?

ball joints shouldn't move. there will be just a little play in the rack though.

Did you change your outer tie rod while you were at it?
