Thank you for clarifying.

That's what I was under the assumption of, but like everything else assumed, it was probably wrong, thus we wanted to clarify.

All this stemmed from when my wife asked me which series was better, cause I have a feeling she was trying to figure out if there were any events in November (close to our 1 yr wedding anniversary) to go see, and thus the debate of which series will be more exciting, fun to watch, etc. came up.

That's why you put a real motor in it. Disadvantage gone.

Passing

I think US drivers are capable of passing, it’s more of a safety and insurance issue. I just held a Nopi qualifier and had to pay additional coverage for "dropping tire" and passing.

Also a lot of tracks here in the US are really narrow or "short tracks". Some of the Pro Events in Japan are filmed on extremely wide tracks, makes driving and passing look easy.

Yea.. I think a prime example is dan at nopi...The entire day he was being a complete vag, taking the inside line and all he tried to do was pass people. It displays no talent, honestly isnt that exciting, and is lame.

Drifting isnt racing, so passing is kind of pointless when its all about style, car control, and line.

When you are following ride the guys fender/door, and then when you are in front pull away from him, bury him in smoke and take a baller line and you will win.

Someone winning just because they pass all the time is dumb, but that sounds more like it was the judges' fault.
If they didn't let him win he'd stop, or he'd make sure to try and excel in other aspects, a pass shouldn't equal an instant win, maybe it shouldn't equal any points, who cares, but at the same time it looks cool, and in the end isn't that what drifting is supposed to be all about, looking cool and having fun?
