I am using an EZ Wiring Harness and between their manual (which sucks butt) a painless manual (which is much more thorough) and an FSM I have come up with the following diagram that should depict how to get power to the harness. Now I have not included switches and all that jazz but I will as this little project evolves. I will even include pictures but for now this is what I have for the start up and charging system. Some of my arrows may be pointed the wrong way but I am pretty sure I got it right.

If you know what you are doing with wiring like this please feel free to comment or lend advice. I Would love to turn this little section of my build into a how to, for guys that want to do this kind of stuff int he future. I always see it done or alot of questions asked, but have never seen a thorough how too.

Red = Power (However each type of marked power has its own wire as depicted in the picture).

Black = Ground

Purple = IGN Switch Start

Dark Grey = Alternator Excitor

PowerWires Explained:

Battery Pos - Starter Pos Post
Alt Pos - Alternator Boot
8 Gauge Power - 100 Amp Maxi Fuse (Used in place of Fusible Link)
Alternator Boot - Maxi Fuse
Maxi Fuse - Solenoid Power on Harness (This is where the Harness gets power from)
Alternator Excitor From Fuse Panel - Alternator
An Additional wire is added from boot-alternator terminal
Alternator is Grounded to Engine Block

Ground is Ground

Starter Relay
Ground
Power Constant from fused Wire to Battery
Purple Ignition Switch from fuse box to Relay From Relay to Starter Signal.

Maxi Fuse replaces Fusible Links at 100 Amps Rating

Sounds like quite the project. I'm familiar with wiring for the most part and can double check a few things after work... but so far that looks correct.

Did you decide which engine management unit to use yet?

BTW, the car looks incredible, going to be a sad day when you have to leave Okinawa.

dude a double check would be quite appreciated. I am going with a Microtech LTX12 got a line on one already loomed for RB at a good price so I am going to get it. Should that fail to do what I want it to do, we might go back to the basics and put a Power FC D Jetro in there.

what about HKS F CON V PRO? it seems like it is a favorite among japanese tuners and you do happen to be in japan. but really, i am sure you have already thought about that route, but wondering what you are looking for when chosing software. one disadvantage to HKS i see the tunability once you bring the car to the states since you have to be a master certified HKS shop to tune their system.

Why is that? he can bring the car back with him to the states, because somehow people in virginia are running around with legit s15's and are not sharing at all how they legalized them or have us plates on them.

Cursed - This is by far the coolest build thread I have read. I just read all 19 pages and am quite impressed. I have only been into this scene for about a year so far, but quality builds like this make me never want to leave it behind. Your attention to detail has also inspired me to get my car into better condition. While I do not have the amount of knowledge or skill you posses, I am still inspired to do my best. Thanks for sharing this with us and I cannot wait for further updates.

Also, I realize your busy but I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to read a how-to thread on resurfacing a dash.

they are not completely legal, they just did a lot of paper work that when they get pulled over the cops don't think twice about them.... but customs/home land security may think differently.

Thanks man, I am glad others like what I am doing. Kind of of keeps me motivated to post updates and things like that.

- Resurfacing a dash is a bit easy. However, I was using the old dash to make a plug in order to creat a mold to make a carbon composite shell. It would not have accomodated AC vents or anything like that.

- I have read a little bit on resurfacing and a guy that works out of the same shop I use has done it. They roughed up the dash and used a flexible resin to resist cracking. Laid a few coats down, sanded it nice and smooth and then laid a paint jod on it. You could use some really fine fiber weave to reinforce it a bit and help prevent cracks.

The car will come back with me when I do, but I do not really intend to come back any time soon except to process out of the Corps. Should I be forced to come back I will disassemble this fucker and ship it back. Since absolutley nothing on this thing is untouched I would probably be able to get an "Assembled from Parts" title or something like that, btu I am not too sure as of right now.

With that being said....

DO NOT TURN THIS INTO AN IMPORTING THREAD...

Importing is fucking boring and this is a build thread. I will post up an import thread if and when the time comes.

The wiring still looks correct, I couldn't find anything wrong with the routing. Double checked with my friend who is an electrical engineer, and he said it looked up to par.

Here is another update:

Got the power steering rack put back in. I originally planned to powder coat the POS but I didn't feel like fully disassembling the rack since the rebuild parts were about 180.00 from Nissan and there was no reason to rebuild a perfectly good rack just to make it colored. I used some Nismo Power steering rack bushings, they are pretty rigid and appear to be a hell of alot greater quality than stock but we shall see. I wanted to go with Yanak Aluminum ones but they were just a bit overkill and I doubt the cost was worth the pay off at the end. I also threw some Tein Tie Rods and Tie Rod ends on there with nice new boots.

I am still working on acquiring everything for the wiring harness to get completed but kind of took a sidebar to make a dash so everything would sit where I wanted it to.

I had originally planned to use carbon fiber and pop off a copy of the stock dash, but two things turned me away from this plan. Primary reason was the fact that creating a suitable mold was going to take a very long time since I wanted the outer AC vents eliminated, second consideration was time. I hade 2 4X8 sheets of aluminum laying around and decided to mock up a cardboard dash and then have the basic shape cut and bent from one of the sheets and then use that bulk shape to perfect and create a good aluminum dash. All you HATERS that are going to talk shit about glare like I don't know what the hell I am doing, once the dash is complete it is headed to a guy here to get a nice coat of wrinkle black powder coat.

Anyways, pics below as usual.

Some of the Engine Progress Pics as promised as well

Sorry I don't have more but alot of things I did I did not take pictures of and soem thigns were done by a shop in town to ensure that clearances and other things were correct.

No, it was a regular old port job but it was smoothed over with some 80 grit cylinders. Not too much over stock at all. The cylinder head itself was CNC however.

For the Port, Squish removal, the valve seat cut and grind plus shimming and all I believe it was somewhere in the 2,000.00 Range. THe biggest cost was sending the head to NAPREC for the squish removal (Almost a grand on its own) I could not tell you what what the port was on its own, but I can roll down to the sho, ask them and kick you a no shit number after I go there next time.

Damn I just wished I had the money. Love this build I will keep reading it. I hope I get to see this project finish one day.
