I love hoisin sauce. That is one of those bottles that I will always have on hand.
Speaking of pho, a Pho Garden opened up a mile away from my house. Finally a decent pho restaurant in my area without having to drive to SF.

wow, haven't eaten this in years.
I actually don't care for the srichara or hoisin in pho. If done right, the broth is the best part of pho but works on a more delicate level. heavier sauces tend to overpower it. now the herb blend, like basil, cilantro, mint (maybe) I think work well with it. wish i was back in socal right now for pho w/ brisket one of the best foods to have in chilly day imo. |

So far, I've found 2 good place for Pho out here in Hampton Roads. I like my Pho with lots of Hoisin and cock sauce (Sriracha bitches, Sriracha!!!). Get a small dipping bowl on the side, mix in a quarter amount of Sriracha and 3/4 Hoisin, dip your meat in it. I should have gotten some yesterday when it was 40 degrees out...

Vietnamese friend of mine runs a Pho shop down the street and it's the business.
Haven't been in awhile though, I think it's probably about time.

had some craaay pho in brooklyn chinatown. never gonna forget the flavor, cant think of anything that comes close to it. OH and they put tripe in theirs. its a little off putting when you think about what tripe is, but the texture is fun and addicting

I just found out that tendon is 99% fat free... For some reason I always though it was similar to fat... DEFINITELY getting it in my next bowl.

I should have copyrighted the name a long time ago but a local place beat me to it. They're name is PHO KING! Not the best but the best Pho restaurant name. Meatball and tendon is a must!
