I don't know that its all the rage, its more of just a "retro" look. A throwback to like 2001.
When I first started taking interest in 240s and drifting (10 yrs ago) I was running 15" bbs mesh on my 4 lug s14.
We didn't have anyone selling good style kits back then, and 17's were about as big as most people went on wheels, so it was just slammed with a front lip or something.

Its just nostalgic for me, a reminder of a simpler more fun time.

it is for alot of us, styles tend to loop around and cycle it seems, just enjoy the ride

but shit, these have been out less than a year and are already being knocked off!!

I plan on buying the works for the starlet eventually, one of my favorite wheels ive seen in a long time.
