For those who have the radiator tucked under the rad support and in front of the condenser... Does it effect the condenser at all, cooling difference since you have a thick core in front of it now? I am considering buying the chase bays rad for my RB25 in Jan.
Ps unrelated to the rad, but Cavitation is also used in terms of "air" when talking about ballistics. The formation of a cavity cause by pressure around the bullet when it penetrates the body. Had to learn that during my Paramedic course.. Just my shining moment to be that guy lol |

I have an RB20 and I was running into cooling issues. I wanted to run the Taurus fan, but there was no way it was going to fit behind the radiator. I've been into a few accidents so I ghetto fabbed a "tube" front end.

That doesn't look bad dude! Might cap off the ends of the tubes with some squares and maybe gusset the 90 degree spots for a more pro look but overall I think you pulled it off just fine.

Yeah i kinda dig this tube look, its got a bit of ugly and beautiful, dont know how to explain, but im sure its practical. Lol
Are you running a stock clutch fan, or is that some big electric fan? Last edited by mantas; 11-11-2011 at 05:10 PM.. |

Mostly ugly! haha. It's a Ford Taurus fan. It's supposed to have one of the highest CFM ratings of any electric fan out there. They are running the same fan in Fredric Aasbo's TC. |

No chase bays for me
Well i've decided to cut my radiator support and try and squeeze in the clutch fan with the stock r33 radiator and shroud. I want to go this route so i can get rid of a lot of extra wires. I'm hoping to get this done this weekend or the following. When I do i'll try and keep my iPhone handy for some kind of a write up, it's overdue for us RB guys. If the stock radiator does not workout i'll make more room and squeeze in my alluminum radiator. Wish me luck! HAHA.

For those who have the "tucked" radiator under the radiator support how is it working on your RB/JZ/LS car's?
I've been having some cooling issues with the 2J swap and have been considering the Chasebays or the AFCO one that was posted in this thread, but just wondering how well its working.

I am going to be using a remote fill/reservoir and should have my car running and on a dyno in the next two weeks. I have an ls1 and a greddy water temp gauge for accuracy. I will post up more info when I find out. |

By the way guys, car runs like a champ with a z32 thermostat. Someone suggested to run a single pusher but that would be overkill. It takes me a long time to get it to normal temps. In the canyons it it took a 3hr beating and not a single problem. I just wish I would have done this mod sooner.

Sorry to bump this thread, but those of you with the Scirocco radiator, would you happen to know what thread size and pattern this plug on the bottom happens to be?
![]() I own a different brand, and unfortunately it did not come with a plug for the temperature sensor hole. Would it be beneficial to use a magnetic plug? |

Skip the fans and run a electric water pump.. You wont ever have to worry about air flow to your radiator. Its less work then having to fabricate a bracket to relocate your radiator.

think i seen some where ,that pusher fans are 20% less effective than puller . so dint cheap out on the CFM factor!
something like 400+ HP needs 3500 cfm or more. the ford clitarus ,I'm meant "taurus" has a 4000+ CFM puller ,don't know if ya can reverse. |
