Solid Avid Mount/Xcessive Solid Tranny Mount

So I've got these^ but the Xcessive is a defect and needs to be re-drilled. I don't have the time today to drill em but my stock engine mounts are pretty bad and it's my only day off for a week and wanna throw em on. Bad idea with the stock tranny mount for a week or so?

YES it's a daily, idgaf about pussy-ass vibrations. YES I understand I have to locktite all my small bolts and re-torque everything to be safe. NO there isn't any plastic pieces in the interior, or carpet, or heat (I scrape frost off the INSIDE of the windshield daily), or a/c (obv), it's a daily/drifter in the making for next season.

Wow, my Xcessive trans mount had to be re drilled also, I called them and they said they would have it fixed. So much for that.

It also lowered my transmission so I can't run a shift boot anymore, not to pleased with that...

It's not an issue with the shiftknob. My shifter hits the hole in the sheetmetal where it comes through the bottom of the car. Thus I can't run the rubber boot there because it binds up and won't go into 2nd 4th and reverse. Also due to the new angle of the motor and transmission, I blew up the rubber bushing between the stock two piece driveshaft twice. I had to purchase a Driveshaft shop one piece after that to avoid it.

Found my pictures.

You can see here the holes that were pre drilled, and where I had to drill new ones. I actually didn't get the second hole lined up correctly still and only used one bolt

So this was the resulting angle of my stock driveshaft.

And after a week of driving, this happened.

Replaced the bushing and it broke again after about another week.

And this fixed my problem from there on. Sorry about the blackberry pictures :$

The point is the parts have been shipped out defective multiple times and they are yet to fix it.

Hence my comment about making it yourself instead of buying a simple formed and slotted plate.

This is what I meant about the shifter clearance issue.

3rd gear.

Neutral.

4th gear. Touching the sheet metal.

At the time of purchasing these mounts, I was under the impression of "plug and play" installation. I did not have the time to make my own mount. Of course if i would have known of the issues I eventually had, I would have made my own mount.

Exactly i think they put it on the wrong way! flip it around and see if it works! If you
tried this then they made some messed up shit! who would want their transmission
lower than the frame rails??

Yep I did the same thing when i had a set of xcessive mounts. I originally installed the tranny mount wrong and had similar issues. I flipped it around and it worked great. Unfortunately, I don't have pics of it correctly installed and it's no longer installed on the car.

You can clearly see that mount is suppose to be mounted the opposite way.. I can't believe so many people can get it wrong and think it's right...lol

Use some ingenuity once in awhile.. If something seems that far off with what should be a quality product from a reputable company then something probably isn't installed correctly.. Would've taken 5 minutes to flip it and try it the other way...

Or you could've just called them and explain the situation.. They probably would've just said "flip it dummy"...

JESUS....I really hope you all have only paid $10 for this thing or got them for Free.

WTF is the point? Just bend a Metal bar and drill some holes - Done & Done. Its a wonder its not fitting correctly.
Is Seriously a $60 solid poly mount just Drowning the wallet? Is this some New JDM tyte hype I'm missing out on?

Sorry just had to chime in on this one because of how retarded that thing looks and the problems your having from it.

I did not have a problem with any height change in the tranny. Picked up the mount for 20 bucks knowning of the defect and after drilling the plate and installing the avid solid motor mounts there was only one possible way the xcessive plate would line up. I'll grab a couple pics to compare during lunch break.

Thought about that but after comparing pictures, looks like yours should be flipped and spun 180 degrees, that should fix your height problem.
