The hay-day of the U.S. Drift community has surely come & long gone. In the days where people, (for what it's worth) took pride in making a nice looking & well built car. Emulating japanese style used to be the cool thing to do because it was the only thing around at that time. (Early D1GP in the U.S.)
Now that it's gone, most people who knew it then & owned s chassis have more or less moved on. Today there are tons of people just getting into it, who just #aintcare because most places where drifting is presented, it just isn't inline with japanese style. (Formula D, youtube clips of self proclaimed hoonigans, ken block, and energy drinks, etc) From there it goes down it's own new road with new trends, stlying & attitude altogether. Plus some people are just born to love looking shitty. |
