LCD VS. Projection TV

I thought the LCD would be smaller but:
-LCD is 51" wide and the Projection is 54" wide
-LCD 91lbs, projection 94lbs
-With the base the LCD is 18" deep the Projection is 16". If I get the wall mount the LCD is 7" off the wall. But that's $300.

People say that LCD is better than Projection but $1000 is a big diff.

I will not consider plasma. Don't bother.

You have to look at the contrast. I have a 45" lcd with 5000:1 contrast, which kinda sucks for watching regular tv but hd rocks! the first option is 20000:1 which is AWSOME because the highest they go up to now is 25000:1. I would say go LCD but there's honestly nothing wrong with projection because I have a 65" in my living room that picks up 1080p that is pretty damn great!
