Who cares that YOU can drive in the snow with winter tires, a LSD, lots of swerving, countersteering and power sliding around. Thats not how most people want to drive. That doesnt make you a good driver sliding around everywhere on public roads thinking you got the skillz to do so. Assinine..

My lowered teg would walk all around any of the three 240's i have, all of which i have tried driving in snow with LSD and without until i came to the conclusion just like everyone else with a brain on the interwebz that a RWD sports car sucks in the snow. YES I would rather have a freaken FWD car than a caddy in the snow. I have driven caddies in the snow, they suck balls. A client of mine has a CTS, that thing gets stuck everywhere in winter weather.

Brunswick, i had a jeep wrangler in the winter. I would STILL rather have my teg over the jeep wrangler. This is probably because i would never put all seasons on a wrangler, its always gona have offroad tires. But again, they are short wheel based vehicles with little to no weight on the rear end. You can slap it in 4wd and do OK, but if you dont have lockers and at least all season tires the teg is still a better winter daily. A long wheel based truck with good tires kicks ass in the snow, even in 2wd. Toss a bit of weight in the back and it will go anywhere. As do most SUV's, weight helps a lot in snow. I was comparing a fwd sports car to a RWD sports car. Anyway, your just an awesome dude who can drive around on bald tires in the snow with a welded dif and not have problems what can i say. Your driving ability seems to counter your stupidity, but its gona catch up to you trust me. ;D

As far as my own wreck goes? Its not going to cost me much to fix. You are attacking my driving ability for biffing a guard rail when you totaled a car in the snow yourself speeding(for the conditions) around a corner. I didnt have all season tires on, and i just made an error in judgement. It happens. Laughing at me for wrecking a car(after you admit to totaling one yourself in similar conditions) is pretty classy bud.

Again, like i said.. Its dooable, you should at least however have winter tires and some weight on the rear end.
I don't think you get it.

It's Canada. EVERYONE buys snow tires. You'd have to be retarded to drive in snow without them. Snow tires aren't considered "tricks". Hahahah.

I bought snow tires one year because i had max performance summer tires, and now i still use snow tires even though my car has high quality all seasons on it.

they're just that much better than all seasons.

I had a auto S14 for a daily before it was stolen recently, and drove it for the past two winters. It was the worst.

Open diff and auto is sooo bad. I was all over peoples front lawns....

I once ended up about 5 feet from someones front door...true story...

I have a dodge ram for winter....but I usually drive the 240 when it snows because its so much fun. Plus I don't have too far to go for work so its not a big issue. If the snows too deep I break out the Ram power

I got a stock s13 for winter car and I just love it, just gotta be careful, but its really not that bad. And its so goddamn fun !!!! sliding around in the middle of the night ! Gotta carry traction aids though (metal ones, plastics are shitty), i got stuck in a probably 1 degree incline this afternoon ...

Drove for about an hour and a half last night while 40 cm (about 13 inches) of snow was falling.

Just don't be too hard on the gas and don't follow people too closely. Gotta like counter steering alot too
My parents have a 1994 gmc 1500 truck 2wd and i actually feel more confident driving my s13.

I gotta say that I don't get in much traffic too as my job is about 2 minutes away, so i might not be the best indicator.

As with any RWD car in any condition, it has a learning curve.

Its so hard to pay attention in an auto. I fall asleep going to walmart Im so bored.

...this one time I was driving and I ran out of gas, so I urinated in my tank and it ran. Only works on KA's though.

...I imagine if you drink enough alchohol you could get a SR to run on wee wee but I dont drink.

...speaking of urine, I heard if you put pee on your face it makes your beard grow thick...

i loved driving my s13 in the snow, with bald summer tires (except for the few times I got stuck backing out of my driveway).

I echo the comments made above, go to an empty parking lot and learn to feel out the car. The car is more than capable in the snow, it comes down to the capability of the driver.
