Ok BigVinnie I wanna see what you know tell me where;

1) A boosted KA24DE (stock ECU) with 370cc injectors will hit zero vacuum in this map with a stock MAF sensor:

Well case in point the stock ECU never know's what size injectors it has, and a boosted KA24DE will hit 0 vacuum/boost transistion right about the ~64 LOAD section (I knew I should have wrote this down when I logged what a stock ECU boosted did on the map):

At this time between 1,400rpm and 3,000rpm (remember its interpolated to above and below cells) your are stuck in the ECU controlled part of the map which is commanding a 14.7 AFR (NOT GOOD) because by this time you are making boost allready.

To further put salt on the wound your timing is a 23* to 32* and this point in time depending on rpm ofcourse.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you adjust your k value aka injector multipler and latency for the 370cc injectors so your shit runs right, you will access a different load at 0 vacuum/boost transition it will no longer be ~64 it will be different, it will actually move lower which means to the left of the map which means more timing and leaner AFR's, and the larger your injectors the smaller your k needs to be and you guessed it you move more to the left of the map, ofcourse this is all with only a change to injectors.

P>S> You need to see a ECU work in real time badly so you can eliminate some of yoru questions or I can see this could go on and on and I am no expert by any means but I know how to tune my own ECU.

The way the ECU calculate all this shit is comlpex, timing, fueling are all based on LOAD/TP (Theoritical Pulsewidth) without being able to see any of this stuff you are gonna be lost. Like your SAFC, if you knew truely or had any expereince in tunning an ECU you would frown down upon a SAFC, really.

It's just that in any real circumstances my memory just sucks.... I do get the basic fundamentals but then again pounding a bottle of liquor almost every other night and killing brain cells is more damaging to me retaining information.
But in any case I have the fundamentals down and I get what your saying....

An SAFC does suck I never once said it is superior than any type of rom tune , or standalone but in any case when it comes to natually aspirated tuning and basic changes to fuel an safc works fine, especially since there isn't to much wrong with the stock tune to begin with...
The only real trick to making the numbers I did on the dyno was just by changing the MAF which I believe under load changes the K value a bit....

I agree with that 100% for a NA engine you can manipulate/tweak the system in a favorable manner if you know what your doing, and you do appear to know the SAFC. An adjustable fuel pressure regulator woudl work well to, to lower the base fuel pressure a tad and a wide band ofcourse.

It actually changes the LOAD/TP you are correct, I haven't documented or actually watched what happend in real time because I am still using a stock S13 MAF but I have a N60 and N62 MAF that I will hook up and see which way the load/tp moves, my logic tells me though that it will move to the left on the load scales.

My reason for thinkng this is because generally the bigger the MAF the smaller the value for a given MAF voltage, since all this values are multipled to come up with the final LOAD/TP, smaller values = smaller total k = smaller LOAD/TP

Jason, thanks for the help, E-mance is great.
your Rom Tune still runs perfect. fully built head, running 22lbs, flawless, 11.8-12.0 afr, killed a z06 with some bolt ons last night Your a great person to work with, and your customer service is awesome. Any other company would just put you on hold for 20 hours and then blow u off.

I just got a sr20det tune from him. It runs so rich you can only drive it for 15 mins. Before it burn the plugs. I have pm him several times about the issues. He said that he sent me a new tune. But that was 2 weeks ago. He also won't give me a tracking number. I should have gone with enthaply tune ecu

Jason is a pretty shady character. He sold me a consult cable with supposedly registered unique software. Turns out it is obd scan tech which is completely free. obd scan tech guy never heard of jason. Jason acturally edited the software so that "emance" shows up as part of the name of the software when you log on. ie "emance obd scan tech"

Awesome experience with Jason at E-Mance. Had some little bugs with my chip but got that solved within hours. He even gave me a ride in his 700WHP+ s14. Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!! Talk about a sleeper. And I give the new Gizmo launch control an A++++++. Will be buying one in the near future.

I know of two cases of fried ecus after tuning with emance... Mine was one of them. Burnt a trace in the ecu fried a diode... I drove it for a little while though maybe 60 miles.

Some people have had luck though.

burnt diode is usually a result of incorrect wiring of MAF or short in ignition wiring somewhere. a diode isnt going to burn out on its own.. only will when you swap positive and negative wires somewhere or your wiring gets shorted out..

i fix these types of ecu's daily from customers who install maf incorrectly.

if its backfiring out the intake - its almost certainly the dist/cas needing someone that knows what they're doing to adjust it.

I'm not sticking up for someone with obviously questionable ethics - but that is something I've dealt with before - when customers or their "friends" set their own timing - they assure me its right and then when i unplug the tps they look at me like im an alien. Its something thats probably a issue since he does mail order stuff.

...which reminds me, I'm running nosajton's tune. It's been a few months. Might be contacting you soon for retune chips. I'm on the edge of going bigger turbo/injectors.

Hey I've been a member here for a while but never posted, I am a legit member on NICO so if anyone doubts anything about me you can check out my history there (to ensure that this is not a troll post). I am currently in the process of getting a Z32 custom tune chip from Jason, I will be installing it myself in the ECU and will give you my impressions when everything is set and running.
