The only thing that shouldn't work is the reverse light switch, IIRC. An ex-friend of mine did that swap and I think he just had to cut off the connectors and hardwire the switch on the transmission to the auto harness.

this... I did my swap and after driving around without reverse lights for 2 weeks I got tired of it and found which wires in the auto harness made them light up and wired them straight to the switch on the manual trans. (its the furthest one to the front)

The chassis isn't wired for the required switches so plugging a manual harness into an automatic chassis yields nothing. They MUST be hardwired.

well I shouldn't say it has to be hard wired. You could go this route:
Amazon.com: ACCEL DFI 74812 Weatherproof Electrical 2 Pin Connector: Automotive Most auto parts stores sell some kind of variant. That's what I would do; a nice, clean, disconnect-able wire up. |

Way easier to hardwire the reverse lights if that's your only concern (5th gear switch isn't needed).

Yep projectRDM is 110% correct.. Just cannibalize the inhibitor connector from your AUTO lower harness (8 pin looking thingy) and just wire the two wires from the reverse sensor in the manual trans to the reverse light pins on the inhibitor connector and bam your done! No need for 5th or 4th gear position sensors or the neutral position sensor for that matter. Other than that, the manual and auto S13's are identical. Its also fully disconnectable if necessary.
