Pointless.

The chassis isn't wired for the required switches so plugging a manual harness into an automatic chassis yields nothing. They MUST be hardwired.

Russ, is it possible swap an engine bay/dash/lower harness from a 5speed into an auto chassis and not have to slice and dice a bunch of wires?

Yes. Essentially you're replacing everything forward of the front seats (S14) or the entire car's harness (S13). That's a lot of work and you have to make sure you get the correct harness (power locks, cruise, amplified stereo, etc, etc). A mismatch would lead to more problems. In an S13 it's easier since the only major changes are base and SE and ABS/HICAS equipped. S14s vary per year and trim levels.

Way easier to hardwire the reverse lights if that's your only concern (5th gear switch isn't needed).
