I know i look like a broken record, but i found some new wheels that i might jump on. Just need some opinions. This will be going on a S13 COUPE.
17x9.5 +28 (rear) 17x8.5 +16 (front) Looking to run a BFGoodrich 275/40/17 Drag radial on the rears. Tire Diameter = 25.70 in. Section Width = 11.00 in. http://zilvia.net/f/chat/166563-maxi...ml#post3535638 This guy is running a 17x9.5 +12 with a 275/40/17 and about 3 degrees of camber. So i am basing my figures off his car that these wheels i want should be 9/16 more into the wheel well. Whats your guy's thoughts on this? Should work pretty "well" right?

I don't think 16mm of outer clearance is going to allow you to take out too much camber. I'd go for a +35-40 ish personally. Or just leave the car a little on the high side.

picked these up to replace my azenis rt615s, i didn't want to replace the azenis, but ever since the 615ks came out the price jumped 100 dollars per tire, and at 410 dollars a tire its ridiculous. Id rather give my money to someone else at this point.
Its not good for drifting but for street and track use it should be great. ![]()

anyone know how an 18x9.5 +15 rpf1 with 255/40/18 all around will fit on a stock body s14? i have stance coils, and im at "legal" height (aka not that low).
im pretty positive il need a roll, but will that rub the inner fender well or the coils? and how much of a roll will i need? will they need to be flared? also, how would a 245/40/18 fit on that same rpf1 size? like how bad of a stretch would it be?

Late reply but...
Why not go with a q45 rear end and call it a day with 315's? Quote:

Hold on, what does Q45 rear end have to do with putting a bigger tire on. Cause i got the Q45/300zx rear end..

nothing that i know of..
Well apparently the ps2's run a lot wider than the azenis and they don't fit under the over fenders. I miss the sheet metal days where if something didn't fit i could just pull it more. Side note i have two brand new michelin ps2's for sale in 315/30/18.

gsracer: How much rear camber are you running?
I'm trying to figure out what size overs I need (10"+12) with little to no camber for even wear. Drifting on 245/40r17 on a 9.5 for most of this season. ![]() |

You are my hero! I have followed the many different stages of your car and have always been jealous of the steamroller sized tire you fit under the rear of your S14. Regards, Robert

Don't want to change my rear end out because I already have Kaaz 2way. but I get what you are going for though, bigger flanges = stronger and less drivetrain power loss from engine to tires.

I have 50mm rear overs ready to go on my s13, so how wide of a tire can I go with?
Anybody running 315's in the rear of an s13? I want to run -1.5deg rear camber. I've heard of people making the overs wider somehow by pinching them? |

305's should not be an issue and you would even be able to tuck them a little if you wanted. You will obviously need to get the width and offset of the wheels spot on though. You may even be able to squeeze some 315's under there.... which is what I would do if I had 50mm overs.

I really want to be able to run the same size front and rear for lapping days... I guess I should find out how wide people are able to go up front on an s13. How sick would 315's all around be? ![]() 315/30/18 is less than 4% difference in size from oem 195/60/15. How about 335/35/17? ![]() Looks like 17x9 to 17x11 or 17x12 vs 18x11 or 18x12... * the sumitomo htr-z is available in 315/35/17 at $158 (fits 11"-12" wheel). Or htrzii in 275/40/17 at $111. (fits 9" to 11" wheel) And the kumho ecsta spt is available in 285/40/17 at $160. (fits a 9.5"-11" wheel) at tirerack. So for guys on a budget, some cheap 17x9 / 17x9.5 in low offset and the above htrzii or ecsta spt might be the way to go! Last edited by Black R; 02-16-2012 at 10:26 AM.. |

Did you have any issues with inboard clearance with this setup in the rear? If not, then a 12" wide wheel should fit perfectly with 50mm overs, and using your example it would need to be a +19. |

Mad-ss was talking about axles snapping, which just won't happen on q45 / z32tt axles - which is what you use with a q45 rear end. *Mad, just saw your reply. Stock axles suck! The rear end ratio of the q45 rear end is perfect for lsx gearing. I guess either sell the Kaaz diff and get a q45 rear + clutch diff for it, or be easy on the axles... |

well i was sitting here bored wondering what is really the max width you could run on the front of an s13, so i did this.
so i searched though a bunch of stuff an seen that McCoy was running a 275 stock body with 1.5 camber. (which you can see on page 23 post 667) his was on a 9" rim with +35 with a 5mm spacer so its +30. now im gonna running 40mm fenders on my new setup, then was like hmmmm 315s? so a 315-275 is 40mm. so technaically the tire is 40mm wider just like the fender. i would like to run a 10.5" rim so gotta figure out how to get this to not hit the coilover. so if is was still +30 the rim would stick in .75" more or 19mm. so 30-19 is a +11 to make the inside exactly the same. an which would move the outside of the rim 19mm out more, but you would still have 2mm of clearence. because the rim is 1.5" wider which is 38mm an half is 19mm. so with a 10.5" rim you would be able to run a +9 to +11 an "technically" it should work, but on here an on the car is a different story. i was planing on runnning 315-30-18 nt01s on 18x10.5s for my rear track tires. i might just bolt them up to the front an see how it all fits. sorry for this not having pics an being a bit confusing to read, but i though someone might find this interesting. |

No issues at all on the inside... at least not at that ride height. As I stated earlier, 315's shouldn't be an issue with 50mm overs on an S13.

I just checked out a local car that has weld rts 15x11.25 5.5" backspacing on an s13 5lug spindle with z32 brakes.
![]() Apparently they have a brake caliper clearance option. http://weldracing.com/street-perform...15-in-s71.html These would be great for anyone looking for an affordable wide wheel. I'll take some pics tomorrow. |
