This. I'm curious as to know why those that don't believe that systemic racism doesn't exist believe so. Black men also, disproportionately have longer criminal records - this in part is why a white girl gets arrested with a joint and gets a fine, but when a black man gets arrested with a joint while on parole and it's his 8th offense he gets jail time.

As I said, empathy isn't easy. I respect cops a lot. One of the toughest careers to endure. But a "blue life" is a career choice. Being black isn't a choice. Is it hard to believe black people are scared for their lives when they have an encounter with a cop? That's one perfect example of perspective is it not? You can't really think all cops are good do you? I'm respectfully asking what you think. Also, I'll check out that link you just posted.

Nah. I have cop friends, friends I've known for decades. I know their POV's, am proud of their accomplishments, know what they've been through, and am very thankful for their protection/contribution. And I feel horrible that they're getting a bad rap. We agree to disagree on some matters, but at the end of the day even they know there are crooked cops. They still empathize.

Few bad apples right? You can't say the same for cops? Are you by default denying all the mistreatment by cops on people, complying, no criminal record people, that DON'T make the headlines? I'm expecting a "prove it" response for this one, but I don't need to prove it. I've heard enough from friends/strangers. I would never dismiss their grievances. It is possible to hear accounts from both sides and empathize with both sides.

I don't condone the riots/looting. That's not what the true intent of the peaceful protesters are really protesting for. I mean the protesting got the cops that killed Floyd, didn't it? So I disagree that that doesn't make any good changes, especially if it's towards improving SOMETHING. What is that SOMETHING? Maybe less bias-influenced trigger-pulling (pun intended? may not?). Not for me to decide, but one can only hope for improvement.
