Haha thank god for Alberta I don't have to be 21 only have to be 18 here

Not sure if it was mentioned before but Erdinger Dunkel is a great dark beer I definitely enjoyed that one.

I've also tried becks, it was a whole lot of beer I think almost a liter (if you know what that is ) and I didn't enjoy it too much it was pretty bitter for my taste. Those are about the only 2 specialty beers I've tried because they're damn expensive at my local pub.

You know, i dont know what it is but the dunkel in the states is not the same thing as the dubkel in germany (only talkin about erdinger) it just doesnt taste as good. Its too strong and too dark.

Has anyone tried Rogue's MoM Hefeweizen with rose petals yet? I bought a bomber of it but haven't cracked it open yet.

Meh, I didn't like it that much. There are way better wheat beers out there. 5/10.

Of course. Hefs are not my favorite but I figured I'd try something new, just to try it. It seemed interesting haha.

All beers are worth trying once. How else will you know if you like it? Wheat beers are by far my favorite and I had high hopes for the Mom's Hefeweizen too. Alas, I found that I liked Hoegaarden and Mothership Wit way better than any regular Hef.

Some of the newest additions today to my fridge.

Hop Fest Was good this weekend, but 10:30 to 10:30 boozing did catch up with me at the end. Still great.

Hopslam tastes different, but it's not the same...doesn't have the bite. Still Good. A-

Pliney (Elder)...it's usually good. Overhyped (much like younger). A-

Southern Tier Oaked Unearthly - Who doesn't like oakey hop juice? A-

Clown Shoes - Supa Hero - Meh, Clown Shoes isn't my deal. Tried a few, can't get into them. B

Ithica Flower POwer - My favorite 'easy to find' hop beer. A. This was fresh too yummmy.

Firestone Walker -Double Jack : This was nice too. Never had it on draft before. Will have it again. A-

And then some Samples from it too:
Russian River Blind Pig - Equal if not better than Pliney Elder. A
Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree - 13%...but not harsch. B+
Sixpoint Resin - The name says it all, blechk. No base, almost like a barleywine gone wrong. C+

Best Hoppy Beer of the weekend?

Hill Farmstead - Edward Pale Ale A+ So far, everythign these guys make is outstanding. Must source out if you can.

And here is what we had Friday once we all got to our friend Davids:

1. Alchemist - Heady Topper

THis beer is great. Overhyped, but great. Can is great way. We put the suspension on Matt's Speed3 and drank these. Good stuff

And now for the 4 way splits

2. Cisco -Lady of the Woods

Still good IMO. Little oily on the tounge, but it's ok. A-

3. Anchorage - Tide and it's Tackers

THis beer was really good. I love tripels, and this one was funky as hell with Brett. Would love to find this one again

4. Crooked Stave - WWBO

Funky, orangy, and good. A-

5. Lost Abbey -Veritas 003

THis beer is always good. Batch 3, being a little older has mellowed a bit, but man is it good. Hits your tastebuds like Tyson. A+

6. Bruery - Acer Quercus (collaboration with Lawsons)

THis was kinda neat, but at the same time a 'bit much'. Little to sweet for me, but that's to each their own. Still a top notch beer, but the snob in me wouldn't go after it again

7. White Birch - Total Chaos

Our friend Matt (who came down) helped brew this one (he is the shmuck who signed with a sharpie on the bottle). It's ok, but it was Chaos. B+

And my favorite of the tasting:

Bruery - Filmishmish

Like FUnky Apricot Beer. So damn different, so good. A+

Unpictured:

1994 Thomas Hardey's. Yes, this was excellent as hell. Rare Treat, still rockin.

I wish we had all of that available here. Hard to find good craft brews in my area, or I'm just not looking in the right places.

The only one I can get is the Lost Abbey one.

Yeah, but none of the retailers stock any of that stuff consistently.

So is Lagunitas, and Mendocino is about 1.5hours north of that.

I can find those two, Anchor Steam, and 21st Amendment everywhere I go.

I just want the other breweries in the area to have their stuff available in my local store more consistently.
