New RWD Nissan Revealed at Tokyo Motor Show

What do you guys think?

Yes the car is still VERY much a concept, but I think it's good to know that Nissan is thinking about making a small rwd car again. It will be interesting to see if there will be further development with this car and how the design of the car will evolve with it. Personally the BRE/Nismo inspired concept is pretty good looking with it's fender flares, side exit exhaust, and more aggressive front end.

Is that really a bad thing .... like most prototypes its way too radical and over the top. I think a toned down styling version of this would be awesome and would sell like a FRS/BRZ

It looks like the 1972 skyline and new challenger had a baby. But Nissan never follows through most of the time with their concept cars so I won't keep my fingers crossed.

they better not try to push that bullshit off as an "s16" or a silvia. if anything it should be the "Nissan Datsun" or something of the sort. with such terrible styling, i couldnt expect them to charge much more than a versa or sentra for that thing. looks so simplistic and basic i couldnt imagine it going for much at all.

i like the idea of the nismo edition having the akebono brakes, and the wheels even look very nice on it. i would have really preferred to see a turbocharged model over an NA. but hopefully they will make the 2.5 a real beast. direct injection and direct ignition with a 6 spd manual option would be a very nice welcomed addition to the S-chassis swap potential list.

eh, the 350z was incredibly successful. Only reason why nissan is relevant is b/c of that car. I really dislike the 350s looks though.

02 was the end of skyline and silvia so you could say it was both.

Very true, the bonnet and front end itself already violated the car panel/body provisions for the European Union (I'm seriously, it's about designing a car to have "less" impact on a person if you got hit by a car).

i should have worded it as:

Nissan fcked us over when they discontinued the s chassis. The 350z and 370 (also the g35/37) are all great cars but i just find it hard for myself to go drift and beat the living shit out of such a decent car. Which is why i feel like the s chassis should still be in production. (CHEAP, reliable, and ok to beat on)

its cheap nowadays... i am sure when it first came out they were all great cars.

and the engine...1.6 turbo? hmmpff not pleasing...lol thats gonna be competing with the chevy cruze 1.4 turbo...lol
which btw i would liek to see a nicely modified and upgraded chevy cruze, they look agressive and nicely stanced.

Stupid troll is progressively getting dumber and dumber.

You've cried like a girl on Zilvia about a cheap short shifter and now you're bitching about how Nissan should've kept the S-Chassis around the time when you didn't even have your license yet. And now, you're upset because you can't afford a Z to do what you're supposed to do with a sports car: drive. So here you wound up as a forum dweller from the Honda world, still bitching and whining about your S14 and it's still cheap/beat as fuck. Had Nissan kept the Silvia chassis going you still couldn't afford it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ANYWAAAAY, if anybody has been reading or keeping up to date with what Nissan has been hinting before the reveal, they were looking to integrate the Datsun culture back to Nissan. So I'm really not surprised the car looks like a CP or a 510, if this car's design was more refined and is going into mass production, I'd think about purchasing one.
