RPM & Speed signal wires. Please help!

OK this thing is starting to get on my nerves. Ive been serching for 3 days with no luck. Im trying to install my HKS Turbo Timer Type-1 and cant find the RPM and Speed signal wires coming off the ecu. I have a zenki S14 w/ zenki S14 sr20det.

I read that the RPM wire is suppoed to be yellow/red and the speed wire is supposed to be yellow/green, however there is no yellow/red coming off the ecu and hooking up the speed wire to the yellow/green gave me nothing. I tried wiring it up off the HKS wiring diagram but that was a big flop.

This thing is really starting to piss me off so if anyone can hook up some pictures of where they hooked theirs up to then i would greatly appreciate it.

By the way yellow/red worked for my S13 sr20det.

+1 for speed wire.
On both s13 and s14 SRs

Is your gauge cluster working? If so you can pull up an FSM and tap into the speed and tach signals coming to the gauge cluster.

You can also pull out the F8 plug that connects the body harness to the ECU. That's where the signals run to the gauges.

ok well that didnt work so i eventually got so pissed that i took it to a shop that deals with alot of sr's. my mechanical ego is still intact because the guy said he could do it in a half an hour but had as much problems with it as i did. after sitting at the shop for 2 hours and lending him my help and trial and error experience we final have it in.

We ended up going off the CA18 wiring diagram that came with the HKS instructions. Dont ask me why that worked but it did and as soon as i can get my hands on a camera i will upload some pictures of where we connected the lines.

I had the same problem. I installed the same thing and I got the rpm wire right but couldn't find the speed signal wire. It took me two hour and I got piss off and call the wiring specialties and he told me the right one with out even looking it up. I tryed it and it worked. I had to do that learning thing that the turbo timmer does to get it to read right.
