removing EGR

After researching I've decided that I don't need my EGR Valve (which has been flashing CEL's in my face and occasionally sputtering my motor). Being that I live in a non-emmissions area I think my best plan is to just rid myself of it.

Question 1. If I was to remove the valve altogether would I still get a CEL?

Question 2. Does anyone have a DIY guide or some helpful pictures to assist me?

thanks in advance!!

There's a fuse you can solder into a sensor that eliminates the CEL after removing the EGR. Still, some people remove the EGR and don't even get the CEL after that. Search freshalloy.
