Best tire and size for 17x10.5 in rear?

I hate posting a thread like this with all the wheel threads on here, but...

I'm trying to make a decision on tire size for 17x10.5 +27 on the rears. I have hashed thru alot of threads and even PMed some folks, so I know basically what CAN work, but can't decide what will be best.

I wanted to go 255/45/17, for a more conservative stretch and tire profile. I do not like excessively thin tires. But have found that most of the better tires aren't available in that size. At this point I'm leaning towards Ventus R-S2 or Azenis RT615. I'm considering a few others as well. Those tires are available in 245/45/17, but not 255.

I also don't want to go any lower in ride height from my 225/40/18's that I currently run.

I'm considering

255/45/17
245/45/17
255/40/17

The best tire options are in 245's. Don't want crazy roll/pull or excessive neg camber. Don't want too low of a tire diameter. These may be used for occasional autox or HPDE's, but primarily daily driving.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on what sizes are preferable. Thanks.

Which chassis is it going on, and are you willing to roll the fenders at least?

Are you willing to pull at all?

Also what is your current camber that you have?

S14 chassis
Willing to roll and pull, prefer minor pull
Camber is stock plus whatever ~2" drop gives you
I've got Cusco RUCA's arriving today or tomorrow
Camber will likely be set for best overall handling for autox.
Also, I've heard the R-S2's runner skinnier than the RT615's?

What class will you autoX in? Check the rules and run the biggest tires you can since your willing to roll/pull. Wider tires are better for autoX, none of this stretched business. You also need to consider the effects of having a larger than stock diameter on your gearing. You can use this: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

I'm running 265/35/18 on my new 18x10" +25 wheels.

My mod list will probably put me in street modified. It wasn't purpose built, so I don't expect to be real competitive.

How much pull/camber is required to fit 265's??

EDIT: I ended up going with FK452's in 265/40 and 245/40. Hopefully it fits well. I would rather have more conservative camber and a hair less tread, if a tradeoff is necessary.
